GameInformer - "Fans of Crash Bandicoot have oft requested that the odd mascot make a triumphant return. Recently, rumors have surfaced that Activision sold off the IP to Sony. We asked the publisher in order to find out what's going on."
They should rather explore ways in which they could hand the IP back to Sony. I don't want anymore Crash games from Activison -.-
@zod how can they give it back to sony when crash was not sold by sony in the first place. it was made by naughty dog and was not owned by sony ever
I know but the best Crash games were developed by Naughty Dog and exclusive to Playstation so you probably understand how my comment was meant.
As long as it's made by Sony and not Activision because they have no clue what a Crash Game is.
Well it was fun while it lasted :/ I'm still hoping though that one day Crash will comeback home.
But at first they said "No Comment"......I don't get it I mean you have all these clues leading us to believe Sony will get the rights but then you get crap like this I don't know what to believe Why don't Actvision just realise we don't want them to have Crash anymore...it's a dead franchise to them because none of us bloody care if THEY make another Crash game.
They realised we wanted it so they cancelled the deal.
So ... Actvision "I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further"
Dont do this to me
Well this sucks.
We will boycott anything made by Activision if this ends up being the case! They ruined it before shoving it under the rug for so many years so just give it to someone who knows how to make games -_-...
Someone prepares and ready a molotov for the day Crash will appears as a Skylander
It's the sad truth
Now that they know there's some level of demand for it they'd be wise to capitalise while they can, feels like a long time since the last one.
The demand that wants it are the ones that won't touch it if Activision releases them. Many want it back with Sony because they'll know what to do with the IP. They can make the franchise relevant again. Crash isn't a shooter so Activision can't do it justice.
Which isn't to say the series can't be good under Activision, or indeed bad under Sony. I'd just like to see the character back, to be honest. We've seen the likes of Killer Instinct, Mega Man, Contra and Donkey Kong Country revived really well in recent years - why not Crash?
if Activision still owns crash, I guess it is time we see crash-landers. I feel sick now.
Go to hell. I don't want a Crash game by Activision. Someone start a petition for them to give it to Sony.
"I don't want a Crash game by Activision." I wouldn't worry amigo. Knowing Activision's MO, he'll probably end up in the next Skylanders game - as DLC poor Spyro
Which is even worse! To be reduced as some minor character in some random ass game is a shame. Naughty Dog has its hands full so i wouldn't expect anything from them if Sony did "get it back", the Donkey Kong Country series has made a very nice comeback in the hands of another developer so anything could be possible.
I'd sign that petition an ungodly amount of times
Maybe, sony paid activison so it appears on ps4 either as a exclusive (lol this is activision so prob not), or timed exclusive or exclusive content. Don't really know to be honest, just have to wait and see i suppose.
I'd love to see them bring out a CTR2 cross platform (I know it was a PS exclusive but I won't have a PS4). Honestly I wouldn't pay €60 for a crash game, but bring it out as a €20 DD and I'd be all over that sh1t! Couldn't care less about graphics....just that mariokart style gameplay with better characters is all I want. I rebought it for PS3....if I had a PS4 I'd buy it again too
Ok, before I hated Activision, but now I really, really, REALLY hate them.
bring it back... by giving it to sony :c pls
This company lost its touch in the gaming industry a long time ago and needs to GTFO Activi$ion is the Illuminati of gaming and even worse than EA Flip the Activi$ion logo and you will see result
They should just give the rights back to Naughty Dog or Sierra...I really enjoyed the racing game made by them. (Please don't kill me)
Sierra's parent company, Vivendi Games, was merged with Activision in 2008, and Sierra Entertainment was closed down later that year.
Great, gritty Crash Bandicoot FPS reboot here we come :(
if thats true i still dont get why they put crash in the ps4 commercial though. something has to be involved with crash and ps4. why would they put such a pointless and irrelevant thing in if crash has nothing to do with ps4.
Because Crash was once a Sony mascot. Nothing more, nothing less. Not every single appearance of a character means a new game.
@Debaitable then why not bring other psone old mascots? I dont understand
Well Sony........there is always Tomba......
Tomba! yes!!! and bring back Legend of Dragoon, Syphon Filter, Parappa (as a PSN game)... Bring sequels to amazing 3rd party exclusives like Xenogears, Einhander, Brave Fencer Musashi, Persona 5, Dino Crisis 1+2, Symphony of the Night and Klonoa!
F#@* O*%$# if this is true ..Activision go close yourself
..also these news are not relevant with the "no comment' statement ...we can still hope
Activision can just hire a third party studio who are good at making platformers to make a Crash game and I am sure it would be good
They won't... Activision owns Vicarious Visions, who developed the excellent Crash: Nitro Cart on the PS2/Xbox - but the studio is focused on the development of Skylanders games. They don't care enough about Crash to hire a third party studio.
Don't bother then.
turn it into a fps and release a new one every year
Give it back to Sony please
I dunno why everybody is so upset about. Crash is from a forgone era, the reception that Knack and Sly Cooper received is an indication that those games no longer resonate with the PlayStation base. PlayStation gamers want CoD and Battlefield.
Wow, you think Journey and Crash have similarities?? Lol please go play which ever one you have not played and come back and tell me that again.
The point is... The community wants more than COD or Battlefield.
Journey sold NOWHERE near as much as CoD or BF. Besides I didn't say they only want those games, they just mostly prefer them.
I argue that it's ONLY the playstation community that wants these games. It's when the franchises get whored out to ALL platforms that it loses it's identity and charm. Playstation gamers have an appreciation for old and new like no other fanbase I've seen. COD & Battlefield.... give me a break.
Really? I said that they were the ONLY ones? Is this not about Crash? A former PS exclusive? Is this not about Sony not owning exclusive rights to Crash? Then why would I mention the other platform fan bases? What old IP's have been revived and appreciated by PlayStation gamers like you so boldly claim? SOCOM? Sly Cooper?
Could you imagine? Crash Bandicoot Skylanders Edition. That would hurt me psychologically. Then again I have to ask, why was that promotional video put there in the first place where it showed Crash with an arrow pointed towards the SCEA logo?
Skylanders is a great game but if they do add Crash he would just be a regular playable character like all the other ones. Just buy his toy to play as him.
If Crash don't go back to Sony then I'm not buying.
I ain't buying any crash games from activision that's for sure...
Activision, we don't want your take on Crash. We want the old Crash back, developed by the right company. Dumbing crash down and whoring the franchise out to every platform in existence is the exact of opposite of what that franchise represents to me. Just look at the commercials from the mid-late 90's. Not that it means anything coming from only one person but I hope I speak for many when I say I will not support a CB game from Activision. It's sony or nothing.
It's only gonna be good if Sony gets the IP back so this sucks
Well if Activision still has it then they may as well turn it into an annual FPS. Either way I won't even touch the franchise unless it's made/published by Sony. That might sound closed minded, but whatever. Crash died at CTR, though Wrath of Cortex was decent.
