Titanfall Sequel Will Have Multi Platform Support

HardwarePal : Titanfall which is going to be a one of the fast paced FPS Multiplayer titles, has only been kept exclusive to Microsoft’s platform- Windows, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but it seems that Respawn Entertainment, which is behind the development of the game doesn’t want to keep it exclusive for only Microsoft.

Never have I seen a game where there were so many tears that it wasn't coming to a specific platform.

So many articles of disbelief, so many excuses of MS paid for this, so many fanboys petitioning for this game to go multiplat. A definite huge win for MS no doubt.

GarrusVakarian4225d ago (Edited 4225d ago )

Only tears coming from me are tears of impatience, its the reason im buying an X1, along with RYSE.

blitz06234225d ago

Sounds like TitanFall will be this generation's Mass Effect. Let's hope it gets reviewed just as well

blackbeld4225d ago (Edited 4225d ago )

I will buy it for my 360. :)

No Xbone unless its 1080p on the Xbone. If its 720p then I stick with mine 360. Lets hope the sequel will come to 360 too.

SoapShoes4225d ago (Edited 4225d ago )

Why? Why get an X1 for this game though? It's on 360... That'd be like getting a next gen console just to play Assassin's Creed 4...

GarrusVakarian4225d ago (Edited 4225d ago )

@SoapShoes

1) Im not getting it for 360, im done with last gen.

2) Im getting an X1 for the years to come, not just for titanfall and RYSE.

UltimateMaster4225d ago (Edited 4225d ago )

I honestly don't know what people see in this game.
It's not that graphically impressive like Ryse is.
It's not the first time we see Mechs in Shooters, Killzone 3 has that, Starhawk has much more fun elements than what Titanfall has.

ChickenOfTheCaveMan4225d ago

I'm a PS3 owner and future PS4 buyer, and I honestly envy you M$ guys to have this 1st Titanfall title. I do think we'll have the sequels as well.

But Ryse seems generic, lame and boring.
Maybe I'll be proven wrong but the trailers I've seen are very uninspiring...

awi59514224d ago

See how that killed mass effect as well. You make a game that you have to kill off all the decisions you made in the first game for the new comes and make it bland and unimportant.

How does:
"I’m sure that there will be future Titanfalls at some point that may be on multiple product platforms,” he said.

Key word is MAY and some how that translates to WILL.

I'm not waiting for a sequel.

malokevi4225d ago

Apparently, they have announced the sequel, and confirmed that it's coming to PS4!!!!!!!!!!!!

apparently. According to the internet.

B-radical4225d ago

Yeah but its good because for what is wrong on the first game they will fix for the sequel. So both sides of the fanboys will be happier with titanfall 2

Thegamer414225d ago

"Never have I seen a game where there were so many tears that it wasn't coming to a specific platform."

I guess you weren't around when MGS4 was released if you actually think that.
Personally I think Titanfall will be a good game no doubt, but lets be honest, most people want it to be multiplatform just to satisfy their fanboy needs because of how much Xbox fanboys are hyping this game.

hankmoody4225d ago

"I guess you weren't around when MGS4 was released if you actually think that."

I'll admit that I was bummed to find MGS4 being a PS3 exclusive but the buzz around Titanfall dwarfs that by a long shot. And the last bit of your post made no sense whatsoever:

"...most people want it to be multiplatform just to satisfy their fanboy needs because of how much Xbox fanboys are hyping this game."

So... it has nothing to do with how awesome the game looks and the fact that PS4 supporters won't be getting to play this? And frankly, Titanfall doesn't even need the fanboy hype, which is why it was considered the game of the show at E3.

Denial. Love that word.

MysticStrummer4225d ago

@hank - "I was bummed to find MGS4 being a PS3 exclusive but the buzz around Titanfall dwarfs that by a long shot."

Rumors about Titanfall going multiplatform will have to go on for years to even approach the MGS4 to 360 rumor.

Z5014225d ago

THIS!

"Rumors about Titanfall going multiplatform will have to go on for years to even approach the MGS4 to 360 rumor"

YEARS!

scott1824225d ago

Without single player I just don't think it will be a huge hit, it looks like a fun multiplayer game though. I will be playing it.

THC CELL4225d ago

Metal gear 4 says hello, Xbox fans crystal rivers. Titanfall to be honest dose Not look all that.

christocolus4225d ago

@xboxfun.

Lol...definitly getting this and halo5 next year.

soniqstylz4225d ago

Except that Zampanella flat out said that MS paid for permanent exclusivity for the first game, and that Respawn didn't have a say in the deal.

Brix904225d ago

For the first game only...The didn't say anything about future titles.

3-4-54225d ago

* If they are marketing via K'nex toys, they have some major backing and multiple groups have big plans for this franchise.

It only makes sense to broaden the audience/fanbase as much as possible.

Brix904225d ago

What's wrong with wanting a great looking game to come to all platforms?

calis4225d ago

"Never have I seen a game where there were so many tears that it wasn't coming to a specific platform. "

Metal.
Gear.
Solid.
4.

Xbots cried for years that it was coming, and whenever it was repeated (again and again) that it wasn't, they cried it was only a movie and never wanted it.

medman4224d ago (Edited 4224d ago )

By the time the Titanfall sequel is released, PS4 gamers will have moved on and be anticipating the next game in series like Uncharted, The Division, Destiny, Infamous Second Son, Watch_Dogs, The Witcher 3, The Order:1886, MGSV, etc. etc. etc. That is why Respawn was not happy at all with this. It cripples their potential sales considering the numbers advantage the PS4 is expected to have on the Xbone. And much like with the Mass Effect series, Titanfall will struggle to get a foothold on the competing platform because the first game didn't build a foundation there. Maybe Titanfall won't suffer quite as much because it has no story to follow, but there was an opportunity for Respawn to really capture mind share early in the generation across multiple platforms simply by being one of the first new ip's available for PS4 and Xbone. That was taken away from them and they have a right to be upset about it. Gamers move on pretty quickly. Personally I have no interest in multiplayer only games, and what I've seen of Titanfall doesn't interest me anywhere near as much as the games I mention above.

" Respawn Entertainment, which is behind the development of the game doesn’t want to keep it exclusive for only Microsoft"

As far as i know, the guy from Respawn didn't even know that it was going to be exclusive to MS did he? They did it behind his back? That's F'd up if true.

Majin-vegeta4225d ago (Edited 4225d ago )

Yes,there was a tweet where he said he recently found out about the deal.

@Gian dumb comparison Deep Down is being co developed by Sony.

GarrusVakarian4225d ago (Edited 4225d ago )

Man, that is low/desperate. Im not affected by this because im getting an X1 for it but it sucks to think that many other gamers on the PS4 will miss out just because of corporate greed.

@Giantenemycrab

Oh look it's you....

Not the same situation at all......MS/EA went behind the back of the people who make the game and made the exclusivity deal. He didn't even find out until after .....Deep Down is a PS4 exclusive from the start and is developed by Sony.

Great comparison,bro.

GiantEnemyCrab4225d ago

That's business or can we say that Deep Down is low and desperate?

XboxFun4225d ago

@Lukas

I don't understand this comment of low/desperate or corporate greed.

MS saw a great game like Titanfall and wanted it for the Xbox One, they went to EA (Respawn's boss) to secure it as an exclusive to their platforms.

Is this not business?

This is a competition between Sony, MS and Nintendo and each one would like to have a killer game that will attract more users to their brand so how is this low and corporate greed.

When Titanfall was first shown it never had a "Coming soon to PS4" mark or any type of marketing that was shown it was coming to PS4. In fact their was even confusion as to whether Titanfall was on PS4. This sounds like Respawn knew it wasn't coming to PS4.

PS4 gamers will miss out but it doesn't mean it sucks because of greed. It's business, MS wants to provide great games for their fan user base the same way Sony does theirs.

Regis4225d ago

@XboxFun then whatever MS paid for it better be worth it. It will suck for MS if it get bad reviews and not many people want to play it, however I wish for it's success, being that it's Respawn's first game since starting a studio.

B-radical4225d ago

yeah vince zampella did sound pissed of EA and MS are really greedy money hungry grubs but what company isn't.

Good for MS
Bad for EA
Sad for respawn

Im sure they wanted it badly on ps4

Majin-vegeta4225d ago

Seems like he's destined to have bad luck.

EA,Activison and now back at EA.

NateCole4225d ago

The thing is about pride for them and not just money.

With the way they left Acti i am sure they were hoping to beat COD at least sales wise with Titanfall. Now it will most likely not happen because of this deal.

Vince shold know better than to trust a publisher especially EA. I mean they left because they were tired of MOH.

They should have gone independent.

iiwii4225d ago

Titanfall is probably the one game that could kill off the COD series, but it will never happen without being multiplat. Zampella has to be disappointed about that... and rumors were that a PS version was already underway when EA did the deal with MS.

PR_FROM_OHIO4225d ago

That's what happens when you deal with EA!

maniacmayhem4225d ago

I call complete BS on Respawn not knowing:

http://www.purexbox.com/new...

http://venturebeat.com/2013...

http://www.gamespot.com/art...

These are all old articles before the Xbox One was even revealed saying how Respawn was working on a Xbox One exclusive.

So you mean to tell me even journalists knew of the rumor and supposed game being exclusive and Respawn didn't?

Absolute nonsense. I don't believe that for one second.

BattleTorn4225d ago

So, like everything else these days, it's gonna release as basically a beta test for their next work.

*looks at GTAO current-gen*

Pascalini4225d ago

This is the game Sony wish they have

GarrusVakarian4225d ago

And would have had if it weren't for EA/MS.

SoapShoes4225d ago

I'd rather have Tribes Ascend... Bring that to PS4 like all the other f2p games!!!

NateCole4225d ago

Perhaps Sony but not me. The game i really want is LOD 2.

I ma not sure why yet people are not sick of FPS yet.

Majin-vegeta4225d ago

LOD 2??Legend Of Dragoon 2??If so *Bro fist*

Kayant4225d ago (Edited 4225d ago )

Agreed not saying it's wouldn't fun or a great game but there is enough FPS games to keep me until Star Wars Battlefront arrives :)

T24225d ago

correction, this is A game any mp fps fan may love, but its only one of many games and by the time it is released, it may have to go up against infamous, halo or any number of other games currently being developed.

Hicken4225d ago

Why is that a problem?

I've said from the first trailer that this looked like a fun-ass game. And it's fairly clear that the game was meant to be multiplat. So why is it not okay for Sony and their fans to want this game? Frankly, it's the only XB1 game I want.

I frequently hear about how, supposedly, the Sony crowd didn't start hating the game until it was revealed to be an exclusive, but I see the same people saying it looks good now that said it before. To be sure, there are probably some who changed their tune, and I imagine some of that is sour grapes. But some of it is also likely from HOW it became an exclusive: late in the game and behind the developer's back.

Surely, that'd leave a bad taste in many people's mouths.

iiwii4225d ago

I agree, I said it looked good before and still say it looks good. But I'm not going to worry about the fact that I cannot play it (well, I could on the PC, but wont). There are other games, so I'll just play those. Best scenario is if Respawn could find another publisher who wouldn't screw them over for any sequels and dump EA.

Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....

This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.

Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?
