The Escapist staff has collectively played a veritable crapload of next gen videogames over the last few weeks. We've banged on the PlayStation 4 with a cat; we've drowned the Xbox One in honey and strawberry juice. We have put the new consoles through the rigors of marathon gaming sessions. Now it's time to give the opinions of editors, broken down in the following categories, before you give you our final assessment.

Really good read, seems like for now the PS4 is a better choice for gamers hardware-wise. (Specs, apps, controller, etc.) Though it essentially comes down to whether you like the games that are out (or that you know will come in the future). As well as what your friends might be getting that will decide your purchase. Can't live without Halo or Dead Rising? Go for the X1. Can't live without Uncharted or Infamous? Go for the PS4. Can't live without Halo AND Uncharted? Go for both, lol. That's what I'm going to end up doing...
I can't wait to see what these two consoles can do in the future. It'll be really interesting to see them develop.
Technically PS4 looks to have the edge
I would like to confirm
Do I need Kinect to be connected in order for me to play games, both SP and MP?
I can't understand why the peoples still comparing them to each other those are 2 diff. Machine one build for hardcore gamers (ps4) and other build for casual gamers (x1) also it offer some hardcore games like ryse but come on people we all know under 1080p machine will be like a wii in next year's Microsoft choose there way they want funbase of wii buy x1 and sony choose there way hardcore gamers and some games for casual gamers but they don't want wii funbase this a true some peoples want pure gaming experience and some others want kinetic and other casual experience both consoles will success in coming years every one in it's way
