Like Nintendo’s classic Super Mario 64, Killzone: Shadow Falls is a technical marvel, showcasing gorgeous graphics and the power of the PlayStation 4. "Mission accomplished. Killzone: Shadow Fall is a technical marvel."
A beautiful and fun game. Campaign might be weak, but it's far better than most where the game is focused on multiplayer. Multiplayer just plays right and sometimes I just stop to stare at the beauty of it.
What part of the campaign is weak? The story is interesting, the set-peices are BEAST, they break up the gameplay into heroic tasks, so it doesnt end up being: kill a bunch enemies, move to next room, kill a bunch of enemies, rinse. repeat. The AI is pretty impressive, that one gravity mission that was complained about, ended up being a good mission and the traversal was easy(I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE COMPLAINING ABOUT). The game makes you feel like a real hero, and humanised, not just some super soldier, you cant identify with, I could imagine someone like kellen being a real kind of special agent in the future. The only part of the campaign that was weak so far from what Ive played is the character development, which was helped a little by the how the game opened. Too bad these "Journalists" reviews are gospel, because realistically, alot of the times, they dont kno how to really review a game, and sometimes, I honestly believe they dont really play these games they review. I really dont know what separates them from us, just like we have some biased, some trolls, and some fair people in the fan crowd, they also hove some biased, some trolls, and some fair people in the Game journalism crowd, after all, BEFORE THEY WERE JOURNALISTS, THEY WERE FANS JUST LIKE US...
I love the campaign, don't get me wrong. I was talking about the reviews who call it "weak". I also agree with your views on game journalism.
I disagree, I loved the campaign. It might have a few weird quirks here and there, but overall it's the best in the entire Killzone franchise. We finally see the side of the helghast and even the soldiers. They have families, they are soldiers who have to do what they don't want to do, and most of all they show the similarities between them and the normal humans.
Careful: graphics talk is a touchy subject around here
I'm really loving my copy of the game!
I just wish you could turn off the Post AA. It blurs the textures a lot and as a result the 1080p image does not look nearly as crisp as it otherwise would. Unless I use Vivid/Dynamic picture mode with contrast enhancements, which I hate doing.
Especially the parts when you're in space. My goodness the whole game should be in space LOL XD. Haven't played much of the mp yet but I hope there's a space map.
i just beat the space level. the game is so darn beautiful. the joystick is very good. Sony needs to make a horror game that uses the mic on the joystick. the sounds that come from the joystick scary the [email protected] out of me while playing Killzone... Lol
Lol!!! Don't give the developers ideas!!! The first time I picked up an audio made me jump out the chair! No joke, I tear like a girl....then I played it off like a tough guy.
Campaign was dissapointing, i expected more i guess and it felt really slow to get into the action. MP is still fantastic though
I only have the unreleased PS3 build of Shadow Fall, but it's still pretty fun. Doesn't look quite as good on PS3, but oh well.
LSD is a powerful drug.
How do you know?
Killzone and Ryse are beautiful.
