Killer Instinct Review | NZGamer

Killer Instinct, if you missed the memo, is a brand new fighting game in its own right, as well as a complete reboot of the Killer Instinct franchise. Never heard of it? That's not that surprising, really, given the last game in the series - Killer Instinct Gold - released for the Nintendo 64 in 1996. Games? Nintendo's released three consoles since then.

The story is too old to be commented.

Is this like the DR3 reviews being based off non-retail pre-release code?

For $20 I am sold. Good review.

averaging 7 was supposed to be mediocre, my how fast people change in 2 days.

Who's changing, I thought 7 was average from the last two days.

The biggest complaint from almost all reviews is the small roster size, everything else is reported solid for this game.

If I am interested in a game anything from 7-10 is a buy. Anything less is mediocre and needs to be played before a purchase. At least that is what I do. I can't speak for the internet.

The problem is the "mediocre" score isn't coming from the game play. Just limited content at launch. People seem to forget that by early next year the roster increases to 8 and story mode along with other features will be online.

IMOO averaging over 8 means the game is good AND has wide appeal, a game averaging 7 means the game is good for some bad for others.

so far no launch exclusive is turning the tide, I think Forza5 will be the best reviewed but those who didn't care about it before will not start now, DR3 was the best chance, the difference is still power and price.
