Brainchild announced today the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for The Slaughter, a 2D point-and-click adventure that is described as Blue Velvet meets Monkey Island.

Serena Nelson writes: "Adventure fans will soon be treated to a pixelated experience in the form of The Slaughter, about a serial killer and a private investigator who finds himself in the middle of things. Two years ago a Kickstarter was ran and successfully funded and come January we'll finally see at least part of the game released."
Greg Micek writes: "As a lover of classic 90's adventure games, especially The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Serrated Scalpel, The Slaughter is a game that has me shaking my leg with impatience over its release. The artwork, the Victorial London setting, a serial killer on the loose; it's a combination that looks like it could be loads of fun. Unfortunately updates are relatively uncommon, and we still don't have a release date."
