PlayStation 4: Sony's confidence paints picture of greatness

MSN NZ writes: There's something special about Sony's approach to the PlayStation 4. It has an alluring confidence that it's doing something special with its fourth home gaming console, and for all we know this may yet be the technology giant's greatest accomplishment.

Fascinatingly, what was once a three-horse race is now down to two, with Sony and Microsoft once again fighting for a place in the living room. Nintendo, again relegated to the place of "secondary" console, will look on curiously as the two giants fight it out.

What is now two will eventually become one, and if gaming superiority is the name of the game, the PlayStation 4 has the odds stacked in its favour.

This PS4 article from MSN is much more balanced than the anti-Sony bilge from Polygon.
Stop for a second to take that little detail in... Microsoft is less anti-Sony than Polygon!

Hmm it makes sense. Microsoft pays Polygon $750k to be the bad guys, and turns around and becomes the good guys themselves.

Well played Microsoft.

Nah but seriously MSN games New Zealand really doesn't have much to do with Microsoft games division.

That was the very first thing I thought when I read this an hour ago. I was like I'll be damned. So we all can get along.... was a good read.

MSN and Polygon are the one in the same, as Microsoft is more or less Polygon's proverbial parent company, with it being largely funded by Microsoft.

Microsoft simply played the reader for an idiot and manipulated the press as they incessantly do, posted the anti-Sony/PS4 article on a site heavily populated by its target demographic/potential customers, and posted the pro-Sony/PS4 one on MSN, a site who's readers couldn't give two fucks about gaming, to seem unphased/impartial by Sony's success.

I don't think the majority of people really see the kind of dumbasses they believe us to be, which begs the question of whether they're actually right about that or not.

I love the 360 and have always been an xbox gamer, but im making the switch to ps4 this year. If the X1 had a comparable gpu for consistent 1080p gaming, then for me it wouldn't even have been a difficult decision; I would have taken the x1.

But, such is not the case, so im going with the ps4, for better or worse.

Only better, never worse ;-) Have you seen this yet btw?

And we're just getting started.

I kinda wanna see more of that Galak Z: The Dimensional, when I saw the write up of it in one of the more recent G I's, I couldn't help but get kind of an Armada (back on the Dreamcast) vibe. I would love to see something like that again.
