"PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3 have all had characters that helped define each generation -- some more than others. It's a weird situation because some mascots most commonly associated with PlayStation have moved on to be featured on other platforms as well. It's rare to see this type of thing happen, but it does. Unlike the earlier generations, the PlayStation 3 didn't really have a set mascot or two, it had several, so it's difficult to pick just one and run with it, but we've chosen which one we think fits the generation best." Mass Effect 4 has the perfect chance to reintroduce dialogue skills, and Baldur's Gate 3 might be the blueprint BioWare needs.
After andromeda and veilguard i think it’s assured that the bioware we once knew has gone, I have little hope for me4. Hopefully i’m wrong.
The PS2 has a plethora of classics RPGs, as well as more than a handful that have basically been lost to time.
LEGO DC Super Villains has an ingenious premise that could work wonders in a future LEGO Star Wars game, whenever it comes out.
They kinda did in the Lego Clone Wars game. One of the stages or two was devoted to young Boba Fett, Bossk, Dengar and Aurra Sing. Shame they never did the other seasons in Lego form. I believe it only covered the first 3 and pilot turned movie.
Sackboy is the best one = P, I even learned to crochet just so I could make one lmao.
I think for ps3 tho, Nathan Drake was the poster child for Sony. Well actually ND is like the poster child for Sony, but yah.
1. Crash bandicoot (old school gamers remember the commercials with the mans face showing lol)
2. Lara Croft (Queen of gaming)
3. Snake (legend)
Kratos is Sony's #1 character.
Games he's appeared in other than God of War:
- LittleBigPlanet 1 & 2 = Kratos costume.
- The Simpsons Game = God of Wharf
- Heavenly Sword = Kratos' armour & blades.
- Twisted Metal = Kratos' blades.
- Modnation Racers = Kratos costume.
- Guitar Hero 3 = God of War 2 theme song.
- PlayStaion: All Stars Battle Royale = Kratos playable.
- Mortal Kombat = Kratos playable.
- Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny = Kratos playable.
- Everybody's Golf = Kratos playable.
And he was parodied by The Simpsons in an episode where they go to E3 and Bart plays Guts of War II.
Kratos is Sony's most iconic character by far, he has featured in quite few child-friendly games so he'd even be recognised by people who haven't played God of War.
The series is also Sony's biggest story driven franchise, whilst Uncharted sells a big 4 - 5 million without the mass bundling , God of War III sold well over 6 million without any so it's a lot more popular and Nathan Drake is too generic and forgettable to be a mascot. LittleBigPlanet or Sackboy aren't very popular and neither are Ratchet & Clank, nothing else is even worth mentioning.
Kratos is the only character that's popular enough, has an iconic look and has featured in enough games outside his own series to be considered a mascot.
