Knack Review | Pixelvolt

Knack is a very easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys the action/adventure genre and serves as a very solid launch title for your new console. It’s an extremely challenging game based on a novel concept that carries it through about a 10 hour campaign, and if you’re able to manage your expectations and accept Knack for it is, you’ll see it may just be what you’re looking for.

Seems most reviewers are giving this game a dissent score. That's awesome. I liked it when I played the demo at the Sony store and plan on getting it next week.

Exactly, I played the game yesterday and it's pretty tough lol. Really caught me off guard.

PoSTedUP2775d ago

whether it got a 10 or a 3 i was still gonna get this game at some point, not right away tho, sometime later on.

RytGear2775d ago

Not sure where you have been but most have not been giving this a good score, I feel thats unfair but this is just the industry.

Capt-FuzzyPants2775d ago (Edited 2775d ago )

He said "dissent" score not good. I'm assuming he means decent, which does line up with the scores. From what I've seen its been getting sixes to eights out of ten which isn't bad and what I'd expect from this type of game. I don't really think there is anything unfair about it's scores.

IMO 6 is a good game 5 is average as it should be. Back in the day when a game got a 5 ppl would go "ok decent game might be good for me might not be" even a 4 was like "good for fans of this genre other people might not like it" now days a game gets a 7 people go "a 7 wow what a crap game who wants that".

sdozzo2775d ago

Little shocked it's getting good scores but it's good for the platform. Cool.

It's actually getting a lot of mixed reviews, but I'm glad there are some good reviews. I personally think it looks great, can't wait to play it!

TheRealTedCruz2775d ago (Edited 2775d ago )

It's not getting good scores.

Disagree all you want.

I was saying this one was going to be a stinker from the beginning.
Everything I said is turning out to be true.

I called that Shadowfall was only going to be received moderately well and that this was was going to be pretty mediocre.
All people on here did was disagree and throw insults. Fact of the matter is, the first-party launch titles are decent at best.
The one game I said held a lot of promise, Resogun, is the one doing very well at the moment.

ssssh only sites that give good scores matter/S seriously though must be a fun day at the cherry field for these guys.

Seems as though this game is a throwback to the more 'old school' 3D action/platformer genre (akin to the likes of Crash Bandicoot, which would make sense - given it's designer) I suppose it's entirely possible the game feels dated, but I can't help but feel this game will generate a small, yet loyal, following thats satisfies and scratches that nostalgic itch for a lot of people.

That said, this is a launch game for a *next generation* console. It's fair to expect something modern, fresh, and new.

mdluffy2775d ago

Different people, different opinions don't know why people are soooo shocked.
I expect it to be a great game for the kids.

Ketzicorn2775d ago

Having actually played the game I think it's a lot of fun a game I expected to get quite mixed reviews a part from a couple extreme reviews it's done decent usually between a 6-8.5 which is about what I expected to see.

I'm not shocked to see it getting mixed reviews. It's a game that belongs in 1995 but I certainly don't see that as a negative. Although the price point might be the hardest selling point for me. This is where the Target buy 2 get one free deal comes in handy!
