PlayStation 4 On The Cheap: The Free Games At Launch

GI: Gaming is an expensive hobby, and if you want to hold off on purchasing too many retail games for fear of wallet pain, the PlayStation 4 has plenty for you. At launch there will be five free games, with at least one coming by year's end. We've played all of them at Sony's launch event in New York City and have the rundown for you.

Should be noted that War Thunder does not launch with the PS4 in the US. It launches in all regions on the 29th, when the PS4 releases in Europe.

I play Warthunder on PC, and I enthusiastically recommend it to anyone who scores a PS4. It is one of the freshest, most fun games I've played in recent memory. Get it!

I also played Warframe on PC, and it is excellent. I didn't play it that much because it felt like it would play better with a controller, and I haven't gone through the steps of hooking my PC up to a controller yet.

Ehh i'm downloading EVERYTHING lOl, I mean if I didn't go outside my gaming bubble and download Gravity Rush on my Vita I would've lost out BIG TIME... so from that lesson I try everything I can :D. Happy Ps4 Gaming to you all!!!

I'm interested in Warthunder. I loved Crimson Skies but havent really played a good dogfighting game that I've enjoyed since. Thats a long time between drinks. Hope its good.

Getting Resogun obviously but Contrast looks good too.

i play it on my pc, its a great world war 2 flight game, that can be arcadey if you choose those game modes.

my biggest problem is it becomes a massive grind to get anywhere once you rank up a bit.

F2p games usually are grindy. That's why most f2p games make $ by selling shortcuts I.e. double xp for 24 hrs.

A good F2p is a game where all essential items can be unlocked for free and the developers sell new maps/quests/costumes for cash.

DCUO actually does f2p the right way(EXCEPT bank limit).You dont DLC until you hit the level cap (~10-15hrs).

come to think of it there were actually a lot of great free to play titles on ps3. hopefully well see the same level of quality games on ps4

Need to renew my + membership, but I'm gonna use the $10 psn store credit to get a month membership till black friday and then get 2 year passes at Gamestop for $30 each.

if your ps+ acct expired, you should get a free 30 days of ps+ voucher in the ps4 box ( you can't redeem if your ps+ account is active or expired less than one billing cycle [30days supposingly].)

I recommend that you hold off on spending the PSN credit until AFTER you input code from the voucher. If the psn doesnt except Ps+ code, then spend away.

it does come with a 30 day voucher, but that usually involves putting a credit card # in while you redeem it, I think.
