Hopefully we learn more about ND's next project soon. TLOU was easily the best PS3 exclusive I've ever played...and probably the best game I've played this generation.
1. 1st party exclusives. 2. More powerful (more longevity). 3. Cheaper.
Same as your list, i can imagine the majority of peoples lists being the same too. Three is an important one, being able to buy something more powerful than the competitor AND cheaper is going to be a major selling point to the average consumer.
4. PS+ 5. No manatory kinect. 6. No paywall for application which are usally free 7. Real 1st person exclusives not just timed 3rd part exclusives 8. 1080p the list goes on...
1.Show me the power dont just say it. 2. Where are the exclusive games? They dont even exist yet. 3. The PS4 looks like it should be cheaper. I call it the Plane Station.
Naughty Dog alone is almost reason enough to me to stick with the Playstation brand.
The price, specs, good press, good public relations from Cerny and Shuhei Yoshida, other exclusive studios, are all just icing on the cake.
The main factor to me though, is I just have such a bad taste in my mouth from everything MS has done involving the Xbox. I feel like they are lying to me and telling me what I should want at every turn. And that's just not cutting it.
Better exclusives? Oh a bunch of Indies? No thanks. The ps4 will undoubtedly have some great exclusives but to say better exclusives at launch is just false.
Quantity will NEVER replace quality. And IMHO, after owning all the Playstations and XBOX's, Sony has a more proven track record of providing both throughout their consoles life cycles. Sony has always said it's a marathon not a sprint and they have proven they can go the distance in every race.
With that said let's take a look at the X1 launch line up:
Ryse - 3 different directions in 3 years (GOW 360 killer to Kinect on rail to X1 traditional controller game). Unstable 30fps, simplistic combat engine. Archaic animations. Has been called boring and has repetitive gameplay.
DR3 - average at best graphics. Unstable 30fps frame rates and some reports of slow down. This game for me personally is a rental and not a purchase.
Killer Instinct - developer picked in a mad dash rush. Barely a year of development. Still evolving and trying to balance the game. All of the characters not even shown yet. While speaking of the character roster. 8 to choose from. Less than the original which launched nearly 20 years ago. Limited bare bones modes and options.
Forza 5 - Less tracks and less cars than it's predecessor. No longer supports triple panels displays which I own and purchased just to play Forza on. No backwards compatibility with FFB wheels including their the Official Forza 4 wheel and it has some pop up. Although it's very minor it's distracting to guys like me considering 4 and 3 didn't have any. Seriously though. How do you release a 5th iteration of a game with less content than it's previous installments?
All of these games are being rushed to pad X1 stats and could've benefited from more development if it was allotted to them.
Oh and let us not forget the PS4 has the definitive edge on multiplatform titles going into this generation and no matter what devs will learn on the X1 they will also learn on the PS4. Most likely that gap will grow and not shorten.
Better Indies than no games ... A boring hack slash , dr 3 with hordes of respawn zombies - fun for an hour , and a racing game with 200 cars ... And I dont even like racing games . Not one exclusive that will sell 5 million .
XB1 offers more features, better online and won the most awards at E3 for exclusive games. But if brand loyalty is more important than what a system actually offers vs the competition; then I guess there's no help for some people.
I can see more power being an overall deciding factor if we were choosing between the Ouya vs the PS4 but not between the Xb1 and PS4 where differences are negligible at best. Even after developers have had enough time with the two systems and are able to take full advantage of their hardware.
Whatever features you're talking about, PS4 has them unless you're talking about TV lol. Nah E3 awards doesn't mean anything. What matters are the games coming in the future and we all know Playstation will have better games just like PS3
you don't need to debate because that's a fact. Playstation has some of the best games this gen. Almost triple of what 360 offered. Also PS4 is more powerful, developers already stated that, even Microsoft is using PS4 footage of a game for their Xbox Youtube channel.
1. More Power
2. Better Exclusives
3. Less Money
Valid points, the second is subjective but I think its already safe to call Naught Dogs next game a masterpiece with no equal.
By now the only valid point seems the price.
Exclusives is what matters most imho!
With studios like:
ND, SSM, GG, PD, MM, QD, SP, SJ, SSD, SB etc... OMG! LOL
Better exclusives? Oh a bunch of Indies? No thanks. The ps4 will undoubtedly have some great exclusives but to say better exclusives at launch is just false.
The name Playstation4 alone is enough ensure it outselling exbox one
