Siliconera: While we’ve known for some time now that Cyberconnect 2’s Guilty Dragon was in some way connected to the .hack universe, this brand new artbook from them confirms it officially.
Guilty Dragon: The Sin Dragon and the Eight Curses, Bandai Namco’s smartphone RPG set in the .hack universe, will end service on March 23, the company announced.
Developer CyberConnect2 launched the game in October 2012. When service ends, the game will have lived for three years and five months.
Due to service ending, real money sales for in-game “Coin” currency will end on February 22.
“At the moment, the .hack series is in fact Guilty Dragon,” says CyberConnect 2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama.
Siliconera: "We’ve seen a bunch of retro RPGs from Kemco and, of course, Final Fantasy Dimensions. Square Enix’s Chaos Rings series looks pretty polished, but CyberConnect2 upped the ante with Guilty Dragon. This smartphone game has the eye catching battle scenes that are kind of like .hack//Versus, but Guilty Dragon is on your phone."
