Xbox One and Xbox 360 Game Case Sizes Compared

With Xbox 360, we had a DVD drive for it and hence the games also shipped in a DVD case and that makes sense but now with the Xbox One sporting a blu-ray drive, the game cases for the Xbox One have gotten small compared to the DVD sized game cases of the Xbox 360.

I suspect this article will reach 1000 degrees in 30 minutes. Totes.

aCasualGamer4190d ago

I would say that's a 15% reduction in plastic.

Pretty good, even if late to the party.

OCEANGROWNKUSH4190d ago

"game collectors might have to arrange their collection of Xbox One games separate from Xbox 360 game cases."

No shit, huh? who would mix them up even if they were the same???

MajorAly4189d ago

Halo 5 will be coming to Xbox One. What if someone likes to keep his/her collection by the game titles? Then the case would look rather odd sitting there with big DVD cases and a small bluray case.

OCEANGROWNKUSH4189d ago

what if that person i an idiot? i have my games alphabetized and by console... as most collectors do.

Stuart814190d ago

Just waiting for PS4 for fans to bum rush the comments with claims these images are fake, its all lies and then remind us that COD as well as other games will only be running at 720P and there used to be a big uproar about DRM. Oh yes and kinect is spying on us. I think Ive covered everything lol

Orange Juice4190d ago

Holy shit, got a few things on your mind, buddy? Care to talk about it?

Stuart814190d ago

Nah just pre-empting the Die hard sony fans that inhabit this site. Me personally although I can see the worth of both consoles am getting X1 at launch.

justSumDood4190d ago

This article right here is a perfect example of whats wrong with our society and why we are heading down such a dangerous road.

We have an american corporation trying to put surveillance devices in our homes to watch us at will, and people are more concerned about comparing media cases.

Pointless and Sad.
At this point my hope for humanity is all but gone.

On Topic - O!M!G! You're right! One case IS bigger than the other! *Shakes my head in disbelief*

nasnas764190d ago (Edited 4190d ago )

You're probably paranoid of your shadow too. You make it seem like someone will be being all Kinects writing down everything everyone does. News flash, you probably have 2 cameras point at or near you own almost 24/7. 1) many monitors and laptop has built in cameras 2) your cell phone. Stop being paranoid, it's an optional feature you can use to get full advantage of the UI.

LordDhampire4190d ago

Diggin the new cases, they got last gen cases terribly wrong....but I love the ps3 like case....looks better then the ps4 one I hate the blue

Taylor_Oscar4190d ago

the case colour look disgustingly bad.

MajorAly4190d ago

To me it looks really nice. More subtle and easy on the eyes compared to the sharp green colour of the Xbox 360 cases.

Unless you meant Xbox 360 cases by your statement

Taylor_Oscar4183d ago

in my opinion i liked the lighter colour but it's really all down to preference. Would be better if it was slightly darker than the 360 not too dark like the ones

PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass Are Not the Future of Gaming, Says US Analyst

For the first few years of this generation, a number of industry analysts argued Sony may need to add first-party games to PS Plus at launch in order to maintain pace with Xbox Game Pass.

The Japanese giant, to its credit, always maintained its position that this was unsustainable. It later added tiers to its subscription offering, providing good value with PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium without going all-in like its Redmond rival.

Microsoft has since missed a number of targets with its own service, and has subsequently started releasing games like Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Sony’s console.

Well Sony never said that, the other camp did and we all know how that went.

goken1h ago

Not all know. I am betting those observing this while obscured may have trouble comprehending 😅

dveio20h ago

Back in the day, there were even discussions and I believe statements from Spencer about wether Sony would allow Game Pass on Playstation.

At least for the time being this option seems definitely to be ruled out completely.

I am not surprised imo because it felt like that for awhile.

Truth is that it was always sort of a lie. You were getting a couple of “day one” per year but they had trained people to think they were going to get all games day one.

GhostScholar10d ago

That is just false. It was never even eluded to that any games other than first party would be day one. Also it’s only April and we’ve already got more than “a couple” day one games.

TheEroica10d ago

What a misinformed comment... As bad a take as I've read in a while.

InUrFoxHole10d ago

Cmon guy. You really believed all games were coming day one when they've always said 1st party only?

S2Killinit10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

They did it really carefully, i didnt say they ever said “all games are day one” but they created an impression like that was the case. For instance nowhere did people actually see a list of day one games in articles or from MS’s mouth, but they kept saying “all first party” as if the number of day one games was something amazing. Truth is that they were getting a couple of games per year max on average. (Not sure what its like now)

@GhostScholar
Again, not sure what you got this year. But honestly is it even remotely worth it? Also, they get “day ones” on PSPlus as well, just not first party, and they are not paying $20/month for it.

FinalFantasyFanatic10d ago

It's not like they could do any differently, it takes a lot of money to keep the Gamepass monster fed, to put the majority of games on there day one is just going to drain too much money. They may have considered it at one point to try and kill off Playstation/Nintendo, but it's not a viable long-term strategy.
