Actually looks pretty functional. At least they got this right. :)

I like it, A little too much TV for me as I don't watch tv, but the rest looks really quick and functional.

I like how the game switching really is instant. Also like the multi-user thing.

But I imagine brothers and sisters fighting over the xbox,
"XBOX SHOW MY STUFF" "NO XBOX SHOW MYYY STUFF" mom walks in stop fighting "XBOX SHUTDOWN"

Can see that getting annoying real quick.

I don't watch much TV, but the TV integration is welcome on my side. If I'm queuing for a match that might take a bit longer, I'm happy to switch to TV until the match is ready.

I'm getting a ps4 ...but I gotta say I really like this UI. Ps3's UI was perfect because I never did anything for very long on the menus, so simple worked. But I was hoping the ps4 was gonna do something kinda like this. I'm also a little jealous of the TV guide lol

looks very simuluar to the 360 UI, but a little worse, looks very dark and high contrast colours, not a fan at all. Does seem to be quick tho which is good.

No my 360 is the same as any others, you keep believing its different tho, its the same as before with multicolour tiled layout. I am on my 360 as typing this and the home page is very similar.

It really isn't even close to the same. It may resemble the tile features, but the way it works is completely different.

You can't see the differences or don't want to. I have used an Xbox 360 daily since the end of 2007 and it really shows from this video and others just how much more functional, and how fast the ui is to get wherever I would to go. It will make the whole experience much more fun and streamlined.

People (PS4 fans) bang on and on about how Xbox owners are being "forced" to buy the Kinect, yet they over look the fact that they are being "forced" to purchase PS Move. The only difference now though is that it makes their controller look like a UFO but that still beats dancing round their living room holding a glowing sex toy

I have to disagree. I use the speech on Kinect now when using xbox music and NHL game centre as its easer than turning the controller back on each time you want to pause a game or song or access a menu in the App. The one voice looks like it is 100 times better than the 360s too and im sure it will be used by millions of people, plus using it in game to look at things in snap mode when playing mp will be good to use as well.

noticed that at the 15 minute mark they clarify that the instant switching between games and any apps ie Netflix and IE only works if you are playing a digital version of the game and not with disc based games, even if you have fully installed the game

It asks you to put another disc in, it will work between a current disc and a digital game like KI. Keep trying buddy.

Because of the drm reversal. You had to install discs then too, but could play w/o them, thus instant switch was ALWAYS available. People complained the feature away.

it will work as long as you still have the game disk in the tray. but cant switch to another game unless it is digital...

THIS IS FANTASTIC, is like upgrading your tv too!
I mean, a lot of people will buy the X1 for this, fitness and dance games.
this is why Kinect is a must, i'm glad that they dint drop the towel on that!

This looks great. I think the key here is the concept of using many apps at once on the console and easily flipping and viewing them. Although the demo only shows TV I can see a lot of uses for it...

Ex. Bring up you tube of a level you are having a problem with and then at the same time play the level. Right now most people do this with a computer beside their console.

Also, this article solidified my decision to only buy digital this generation on X1 and PS4.

The dashboard and dashboard functionality in X1 is looking really good and has a lot of potential if they keep improving it like they did on 360.
