RedGamingTech - Developers Weight In On Resolution & Performance Of Next Gen Consoles

RedGamingTech talks about why developers weight In On Resolution & Performance Of Next Gen Consoles in his latest video.

video sucked, but he did merit some good points. The first generation is hard to judge the life of the console, the XBO can sway towards a better stance with games fidelity, or it could get worse.

No excuse for 720p/ 30 FPS in a "next-gen" console - that was what we started with last gen as a standard. Particularly not one that is $100 more and has an accessory that inflates the price and that many - arguably - don't want and didn't as for. The only reason why we're even discussing this issue with any severity is because of the Stockholm syndrome infecting the gaming press at the moment.

If Sony had the 720p box, we wouldn't be hearing any of this. The arguments would be vastly different and gloating over "value".

Next gen 720p is not the same fidelity as current gen 720p. Of course the resolution is the same, but to compare two games with the same resolution and say they are the same is ignorant. The complexity of the games have increased, and sure the PS4 is more powerful and that is great. That will force MS devs to push the limits and output better optimized games. If Rockstar dev's can push a game like GTA V out with the amount of RAM that current gen has, I believe the can get over ESRAM and other issues.

The quality of games cannot be judged based on their graphic fidelity alone, otherwise would win game of the decade this year. Instead, they need to be based on gameplay and innovations. NEXT they should be based off of how the console compliments the game. IE online, peripherals, and OS features. It's a petty argument. If someone were to not buy a console based solely off the resolution is very near-sighted.

Rela82me has no idea what hes talking about. 720p is 720p. 1280x720 and theres nothing that changes that except games with lower than 1280x720 and upscaling to 720p.

You dont even know what 1080p gaming is like unless youre a pc gamer with a high quality machine that is over capable of playing 1920x1080. Only way youd ever know is by playing either COD GHOST on ps4 or playing forza 5 on xbox one.

it s "weigh in" not "weight in"

I hope it's a remake of the 1st game. But it's probably just the PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption 2

I hope a PS5 upgrade launches on the same day as announcement & it costs no more than $10. I already bought the Ultimate Edition once, they got good money from me.

I stopped playing completely 2 years ago until they did 60fps. I really didn't expect it would take this long & I didn't want to start completely over on PC.

My wish is that its optimized for current gen machines, with some sort of story expansion. Undead nightmare 2! My 2nd wish is that it just shadow drops on the day of the announcement!.

Give me my RDR2 Undead Nightmare already.
