I honestly still don't know what a Wii U exactly is. Is it like a Vita?

Chupa-Chupa4229d ago

It's like a PS4, but 10x better.

SilentNegotiator4229d ago

I can't even tell if you guys are serious or not...

Grave4229d ago

@Silent I am being completely serious. I am a PC gamer and have owned PS1,PS2,PS3, and X360, but really haven't paid attention to Nintendo since Gamecube. Just being honest, I kinda want to know what it is exactly.

Read the review Grave and it will tell you everything you need to know and where Nintendo is at.

Grave4229d ago (Edited 4229d ago )

Rgr, will do. I did kind of skim it the first time.

*edit Ok so its a gamepad for the Wii?

Sincere01214229d ago (Edited 4229d ago )

Chupa-Chupa sumed it up best.
Its like a Ps4, but 10x better, better quality games, better gameplay, offscreen play, free to play online, backward compatable, these are just a few of the features.

Definately the best console to get if your looking to get a new console.

Misaka_x_Touma4229d ago (Edited 4229d ago )

if you didn't know what is how did magically appear here.

oh wait you played such cheap tactic.

Concertoine4229d ago

basically its just a giant DS, the controller has a built in touchscreen for you to sift through inventory without pausing the game and breaking immersion, or you can use it to scan stuff, or it can just give you a secondary view of a situation (overhead view, rear view) to enhance gameplay. but you can also play games exclusively on the screen when someone else is using the TV (or you need to go to the bathroom but SIMPLY CANT STOP PLAYING).
theres other stuff too, a built in game-centric social network to ask questions, post screens, or discuss the game. but it's a new system, not an add on, and it has a ton of great games coming in 2014 and later this year.

Grave4229d ago

Thanks! Thats what I was kinda looking for. +Bubz to you.

It's a tablet in your hand, a second screen experience. Many commenters have already discussed the problems with the Wii U I'll tell you exactly why it is not selling.

Price: Everyone can proclaim all they want about how the 3DS software sold the 3DS. Software helped, but it was the price. If the 3ds was 250 still it would not sell. Families and gamers see Nintendo as a second console experience or a casual machine. If it launched for $250 it would not have had the same problems.

Games4M - Rob4229d ago (Edited 4229d ago )

Good article.

I totally agree. Last year was a massive disappointment when I bought a WiiU at launch but it's recently started to win me over with games like pikmin and Zelda.

It's still got a long way to go and unless it gets some momentum over Xmas then it's gonna get passed over by the ps4, but at least now there is hope.

rawshack4229d ago

I love the wii u i dont care what anyone says

Myx234229d ago

bought 2 games since launch 1 year ago. the wii u will be the only console in history where i paid more for the hardware than for succeeding games. this is a great accomplishment if you asked me. there are not many companies out there with THAT amount of delusional behavior. their deceased founder - who by the way hated gamers and gaming - left a very questionable culture behind of "ignore the buyers, ignore the market and the rulebreaker will win". that was true for 1 time (wii) and 1 time only. because although humans as a species are as dumb as can be they KNOW when a company is just in for the moneygrab. hence no memorable sales figures for the - wrongly marketed - wii u. the biggest mistake was keeping the name wii. this alienated the ex-fans even more and was NOT the thing to lure them back. delusional, as i said. the whole nintendo-leading-staff needs to be replaced.

unjust754229d ago

Very, well said. I still want this console for some reason, but afraid it will become obsolete or Nintendo will just flat out give up on the software just like the Wii. So I will wait another year.

Nevers0ft4229d ago

This makes me wonder why you bought a Wii U in the first place if there's only two games in the catalogue that appealed to you. If you like Nintendo "style" games then there's plenty for you to go at, if you prefer multiplats you probably should have waited for the PS4/XBone :)

truechainz4229d ago

Lol so you bought the console and are complaining about only having bought 2 games? Sounds like you don't know how to research your potential purchases before you buy. Regardless of how good or bad Nintendo does, you should probably take a look at yourself for that.

Why Dark Souls 2 Deserves a Second Chance in 2025

As difficult and frustrating as it is, people should consider reliving the Dark Souls 2 experience, especially because of what's coming to the game.

Many of those who hate Dark Souls II hate it because it's not Dark Souls. The same people love Dark Souls III because it isn't Dark Souls II.

And so many of the issues at the centre of common complaints about DS2 are present in DS3 and sometimes even DS1. The hatred and bile spewed over this perfectly decent game is ludicrous.

CrimsonWing6925d ago

I don’t think it’s a terrible game, but like a movie sequel by a different director, for me, it does NOT capture any of the “magic” felt from the Miyazaki entries. Boss battles don’t feel epic, environments don’t have the same sense of awe, the enemy variety isn’t particularly interesting, the art direction just feels bland, about the only thing I can give it praise for is some of the music.

Now, again, this is only how I feel about it, so I’m not trying to invalidate his you feel about the game, but it is the worst entry in the series due to those factors and it’s the least re-visited entry, for me.

Is it decent as a game on its own? Sure. But in comparison to the Miyazaki entries, it does not stack up and I believe that’s where many were disappointed with it.

PrimeVinister25d ago

Completely fair. I cannot disagree either, mate.

MrWood25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

You can also play it in VR flawlessly on PC & controller with the LukeRoss mod so… another reason to jump back in with extra immersion.

jznrpg25d ago

It’s not a bad game it’s just not as good as the others

Shadow Man25d ago

The controls felt very clunky to me, I tried playing it after beating Darksouls 3 and it didn’t feel fluid, obviously the hit detection is less superior for been an older game.

Six Times When Games Turned Into A Horror Game

Ever play a game a game only to discover at some point it transforms into a horror game? No? Well Netto's Game Room shares six games that do just that!

Immediately thought of the El Dorado zombie dudes in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.

raWfodog29d ago (Edited 29d ago )

Not necessarily a ‘horror’ moment, but I remember feeling really tense and anxious when the Flood were first introduced in the original Halo. I never felt more on edge or nervous in that whole game as that moment. I think it was the whole buildup that something terrible was coming but you didn’t know exactly what.

Another non-horror game that had me feeling it was Subnautica. The deep dark depths, and knowing that sea monsters were lurking nearby, had me jumping at every sound.

NettosGameRoom29d ago

That scene where you first see them attack is pretty crazy!

Relientk7729d ago

I remember being scared of the Asylum level in the most recent Thief game from 2014.
