‘Forza Motorsport 5′ Will Recieve Strong Post-Release Support

Microsoft has announced Forza Motorsport 5 will see the same support for post-release content the series has been known. Each month will see a new Forza Motorsports 5 Car Pack released, offering full Forzavista mode support for each vehicle.

To get all of the DLC at once, it costs about $60 for the car pack. That means you have to pay $120 if you want the whole game.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww DLC!

DeathOfTheFanBoy3824d ago

Doh! DLC is OPTIONAL!!! You get the full game at retail, you don't NEED the DLC to play the full game.

SKullDugger3823d ago (Edited 3823d ago )

But you will only get 200 cars. And you will pay for DLC of 60 more cars from Nov-22nd to March. For a total of 260 cars ???

ambientFLIER3824d ago

The "whole" game is $60.

DLC is optional and extra content. What is so hard to understand?

YodaCracker3824d ago (Edited 3824d ago )

I wish no games had DLC. I never want to feel compelled to go back after finishing them. /sarcasm

As long as a game is packed with content and does not feel bare bones like they purposely left out content to sell later as DLC, then I have no problem with it. And Forza is always packed to the brim with content of exceptional quality.

IC3_DEMON3824d ago

Some devs just like milking us

Volkama3823d ago

Agree, but it's more likely the publishers that want to milk us. I suspect the Devs would rather go on to a new project after completing one. I would.

Nodoze3824d ago

This appears to be the MS strategy. DLC for Forza, DLC for Ryse etc. it is ridiculous!

Naga3824d ago

Are you actually suggesting that DLC is not also the strategy of other developers throughout the industry?

Why are you singling out MS when (1) they are only responsible for the DLC strategy for Forza - not Ryse, and (2) almost every other large development studio or publisher has been using DLC packs and passes for years?

PraxxtorCruel3824d ago (Edited 3824d ago )

They single out MS because it's cool to hate on MS. When Sony does DLC it's because they want to offer 'extra content' to their loyal fanbase but when MS does, it's all about milking as much money out of consumers! DLC is DLC, don't like it then don't bloody purchase it and in the unlikelihood it's free, well thank your lucky stars.

ambientFLIER3824d ago (Edited 3824d ago )

Sony does DLC out of love and kind-heartedness and it's all brightly colored flowers in a sunny pasture. MS does DLC out of greed, corruption, and the desire to kill you, your family and even your dog.

That explains it well enough, I believe!

:)

VENOMACR12273823d ago

Right, Microsoft is the only company creating and charging for DLC. I guess all the Battlefield and COD DLC content is Microsofts fault. I'm sure Killzone will have DLC and give it away for free because Sony, unlike Microsoft, cares about it's fan base and not about money at all

:/

christocolus3824d ago

how does keeping a game running by releasing downlable content a bad thing? does the core game feel unfinished? i see nothing wrong with this besides its optional..either you buy it or you dont.i see nothing wrong with the model besides the xbx community inspired car models will be offered free.....i dont think its a bad idea. keep up the good work turn10.

likeaboss3023824d ago (Edited 3824d ago )

I wouldn't have an issue with the DLC if the car roster was better. I feel like they're holding back on a lot of cars to make them DLC.

Naga3824d ago

It's important to remember that they haven't announced all of the cars yet. I'd probably hold off on judging the car roster until it's final. Just my two cents, at least.

likeaboss3023824d ago

True but it doesn't help when you're already announcing car DLC before the final car roster.

strigoi8143824d ago

then after couple of months after milking the DLC they will release the complete edition

PraxxtorCruel3824d ago

Forza 4 does not have a complete edition.

strigoi8143824d ago (Edited 3824d ago )

did i mention forza4? or any game?

Naga3824d ago (Edited 3824d ago )

PraxxtorCruel made a very apt comparison.

While you did not bring up Forza 4 or any other game, there is no reasonable basis to believe your claim that they will "milk" the DLC and then "release the complete edition".

By bringing up the most recent iteration of the series - which utilized a virtually identical DLC model to what is being discussed here - and showing that they did NOT follow the path you are suggesting here, it severely undercuts the basis for believing your claim.

Perhaps you should look to back up your own claim with some compelling evidence, thus giving us reason to believe you... rather than just criticizing others for pointing out the fact that you just made an unsubstantiated claim that borders on trolling.

TL;DR - Did you mention Forza4 or any game? No, but you should have.

Looking back to 2014 and Forza Motorsport 5 Racing GOTY Edition

Carlos writes - "When it was time for Forza 5 to rock on up to the track, we were just entering the third generation of Xbox consoles, and to show off all that extra horsepower that would come inside the Xbox One, they wanted a flagship title that could truly showcase just what miracles the next generation could perform. And what better title than Microsoft’s beloved racer!"

Such s supreme racing title. Hands down racing franchise of recent decades. Nothing has come close in quality or ratings.

bluefox7551738d ago

Not to mention the worst rated game in the series.

mijayire1738d ago

Apart from Forza 5. Talking about generally the Forza series has always been rated high. Perhaps Forza 5 was rushed for launch. Although made up again by Forza 6 and 7.

IRetrouk1738d ago

I liked the game well enough, it was a good starting point for the new gen and helped them build up to what motorsport 7 is now, the controversies wasnt with the numbers of cars or tracks though, it was more to do with the pc footage being passed off as xbox one, the downgrade from what they originally had shown caused more upset than the numbers.

Are the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for September 2017 any good?

James writes - "So here we are with a new month about to begin, and we all know by now that means a number of new games are about to be gifted to all Xbox One and Xbox 360 players via the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for September2017. The free games of last month were passable if truth be told, but can September’s offerings make it a month to remember, or one to skip over?"

Well...lets see. So FM5 is 2013's Racer of the Year, while Oxenfree was nominated and won all types of awards as an indie game in 2016. On the BC side, both games are classics.

lxeasy2429d ago

The Games for Gold this month are pretty good

DaNineTwo2429d ago

I have no idea why you got disagrees.

shinrock2428d ago (Edited 2428d ago )

Because ur in Sonyland.

DaGreatOne2428d ago

I got disagrees for pointing the same thing out the psn games coming. I doubt some people actually enjoy games that visit this site.

TheSaint2428d ago

I swear some people just go into topics and hit disagree on every post for no reason.

EazyC2429d ago

Of course they are. The competition between PS Plus and GwG is getting good now, expect more great months on both sides
