Dom from DarkZero writes - "I suppose with 2012’s biggest games, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Far Cry 3, showcasing the fun of wingsuits, the interest in the extreme sports craze that involves jumping off huge cliffs and using a wingsuit to glide through the air like a flying squirrel would inevitably lead to someone developing a title that focuses on the wingsuit. Skydive: Proximity Flight by Gaijin Entertainment (War Thunder, X-Blades), has brought us just that, but unlike other extreme sports represented in the video game world, Skydive: Proximity Flight has issues that doesn't let it soar through the high skies it aims for."
Skydive: Proximity Flight has to go down as one of the more pleasant gaming surprises of 2014. It’s a shame that the brilliantly exciting AI races aren’t a little more fleshed out, but as a budget release, Skydive looks great, plays great and is certainly deserving of more attention than it will likely receive.
Ever wanted to try out an extreme sport but have been put off by the cost and other inconveniences? No worries, developers Gaijin Entertainment have brought the experience directly to the comfort of your own home with Skydive: Proximity Flight. Well, sort of.
Skydive: Proximity Flight is not a game with an identity crisis; it is a focussed, well oiled experience that has no ambitions of falling into the category of jack of all trades, master of none. Skydive takes a singular idea, couples it with spot on gameplay but, ultimately, falls short due to being shallow and overpriced.
