Here’s EDGE Readers Twenty Best Games Of Our Lifetime

Respected UK gaming publication EDGE has quizzed its readers to find out what they determine to be the best games of our lifetime. As expected there’s an incredible number of critically acclaimed titles in the list ranging from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask to Resident Evil 4. You can see the high-profile games that the readers have voted for, below.

You'd be surprised how may people know the game, itself and Shenmue were supposed to be getting HD releases, Sega just sucks.

Shenmue was amazing. At the time of playing it I had never played anything even close so it was just completely new to me and most of us.

My favourite 3D JRPG of all time! Shenmue 1 and 2 are my favourite games of all time..Man I loved the Dreamcast

1. How in the Heck does Vice City make the list but NOT the God-almighty San Andreas.

I liked Vice City I really did but it was CRAP compared to San Andreas. SA was just too refined too great a story too big a map and just flat-out way too much to do. I mean really SA made VC and GTAIII look like rubbish.

2. World of Warcraft? are you friggin serious? this must be some kind of joke right? San Andreas, Elder Scrolls Morrowind, Diablo II, Deus EX don't make the list but FRIGGIN World of CRAPCRAFT makes it.

other than that a good list even though I have NEVER played Chrono Trigger.

I actually agree with you.... Only for COD 4. I played it again recently (offline) and well it is still fun to play. It is actually a really good game. Simple but a lot of fun

Kingdom Hearts, Super Metroid, Uncharted 2, and Demon Souls are better than some of those.

It depends on what you like. For me I would have Kingdom Hearts on that list, but I wouldn't put Super Metroid on there because I'm into JRPGs.

I can't bash that list though. Even though I would not put all of them in my top 20 or even like some of them I at least respect all of those games for what they have done and how much people love them.

And I hope those numbers are not for the ranks. If not, WTF is TLOU doing behind SuperMarioGalaxy or Halo. Where's Journey ?

Galaxy is soooo much better than TLOU. Galaxy is the epitome of gameplay and innovation. TLOU is cliche and generic

Very nice list! Portal 2 was a better game than Portal though, and Read Dead Redemption should be at number one :)

It's a shame Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2 and Lost Odyssey didn't make it on there.

Also, Vice City instead of GTAV or San Andreas?

So tired of Ocarina winning this. It's a good game, but Jesus. Conker's was a better game on the same system. So many better games out there.

Most of the children who started with the N64 and probably contributed to this list were never allowed to play Conker.

Goldeneye was not as good as Jet Force Gemini, and OoT was not as good as Conker, which was not as good as Majora's Mask.

Guys it's based on popularity contest, not how good the game is.

So basically all that this tells us is witch games are the most popular.

Take off TLOU, Dark souls, Ico, and FF7. Do a little reordering(RE4 back and SOTC/Chrono trigger up) and we got a good start going.

Clarification: TLOU is great but not all time great, Demon souls > Dark souls, Ico - meh, and we all know FF7 is not the greatest final fantasy.

Edit: I agree with Eyeco, Goldeneye was not even the best FPS made by that company for the same console. Perfect Dark anyone?
