Earlier this year Nintendo of Europe released a Wii U eShop sizzle reel of upcoming games, some of which were seen for the first time in that Nintendo Direct broadcast. One of the many games given a few seconds to shine was FORCED from BetaDwarf (a studio based in Copenhagen, Denmark), an arena brawler with a top-down viewpoint that, though playable in single player, is best suited to co-op.
It left a positive early impression, however, and we (NintendoLife) took the opportunity to speak to BetaDwarf's Steffen Grønning, who is the CEO and Game Director of the company.
Daily and weekly projects have been temporarily disabled to help fix an exploit that allowed players to claim multiple rewards
"robbing some players of an effective means to grind loot."
Loot drops like candy. Bounties can easily be farmed and you get a ton of loot with each mission/stronghold you do. Every level up gets you 2 to 3 top end items each time. And Recalibrating loot that isn't max level bumps it up over 500 easily. People were exploiting a bug to get loot by just relogging or jumping between servers (including a youtuber who did the same in Anthem, but said he'd only did it because it was pve only), and now everyone suffers.
John Whitehouse writes: It was bound to happen sooner or later; Ken often throws these twin-stick shooters my way, as I generally have a ton of fun with them (See my Crimsonland review). But the honeymoon had to end, its just a shame it was forced on me so quickly (geddit).
Joao writes "The graphical style, the isometric view, the fantasy theme; everyone remembers titles like Diablo 3 and Torchlight, but Forced is different in its nature. This is indeed an action RPG but is instead based in a number of arenas in which, either alone or with up to four players in co-op, you have to beat a series of increasingly powerful enemies using not only strength but also the ability to solve puzzles."
Not really what I expected it to be, and if I can't get some friends to buy it too then it seems a no go.
