Dying Light Preview: A Zombie Game To Actually Get Excited For? | OXCGN

It’s really tough to get excited for another zombie game, especially when they’re are so many currently flooding the market.

From Treyarch and their zombies in each Call of Duty they develop to Dead Rising 1, Dead Rising 2 and the Resident Evil franchise to name a few and so much more.

Anything that’s announced now, needs to have some feature that alone is worth the price of admission.

One of my most anticipated titles actually.

I wouldn't put it up there with most First Party/Exclusive games but definitely one of my top multiplatform games atm. I love open world games and DI for all its flaws had its strengths which DL seems to be building on while improving some of its weaknesses.

As long as its fun though I'll be happy.

There's something really intestesting about this game. It looks just a world of difference from Dead Island, kinda like Techland saw what was wrong with their game, and mixed the best parts it with a Mirror's Edge style free-running. And the whole day/night strategy change is brilliant. Feels more like a survival game than just shooting or ploughing down zombies again and again like a jackass.

I know I'm excited for it! That gameplay demo was sick!

Not for me. I love me some zombie killing. I'm having a hard time getting excited for Dying Light though, because it's by the same devs who delivered the buggiest game I've ever played in my life.

As someone who doesn't care for zombie games or the hype surrounding zombies in general, i thought the gameplay reveal of Dying Light looked really good. It was tense, especially the night gameplay, i loved the look over your shoulder feature and parkour is always a thumbs up from me. Looking forward to seeing more.

Nobody bought it for an obvious reason.

Wtf did this edition come with ? A real helicopter and a real zombie virus ?

For one lucky person willing to spend $386,000, the My Apocalypse Edition of Dying Light promised a staggering collection. It included the buyer’s face in the game, a human-sized ‘Volatile’ statue, and parkour lessons with a freerunning team. It also came with night vision goggles, an all-expenses paid round trip to Techland’s offices, and four signed copies of the game. Oh, and it also came with a custom-built, ‘zombie-proof’ survival shelter.

LOL but it was a stunt from the team:
‘It was a PR stunt and got a lot of media attention for its wild and over-the-top nature, it was designed to generate buzz around the game’s release. It did a great job of getting the game noticed, though! But nobody purchased it – thankfully, I guess!’

I finally beat DL2 this past weekend. I’ll pick up the Beast for sure.

It got a lot of shit from fans more not being as scary at night on release. I was in that boat. But once I gave it a fair shot I really loved it. The movement was so much more expressive to me. I enjoyed the story too.... for the most part. Was my game of the year when it came out. With all the updates for darker nights and all that, it's even better. I feel almost exactly the same about stalker 2 right now. The erojank games are scratching my itch.
