Analyst Ups Wii, PS3 Forecasts holds on 360

In a Monday investor note, Colin Sebastian with Lazard Capital Markets raised 2008 US Wii sales estimates from 6.5 million to 8.5 million units, and PS3 sales from 4.5 million to 4.7 million.

He also boosted 2008 DS estimates from 5.9 million to 6.4 million and PS2 from 2.5 million to 3 million. He reiterated his Xbox 360 sales forecast of 4.8 million during the year and PSP sales of 3.8 million.

Why this is news? Just as Killer has shown, anybody can come up with predictions. Hell if I can get paid for pulling numbers out of my a$$ I'm in the wrong line of work.

Before everyone gets in a twist about which console is gonna "win". Please, please remember we are in a golden age of video games. Never before in the short history of this media have we been this blessed. There are so many good games, and each console has something the other doesn't offer. I hope this is just the begining and not the pinnacle of this great time. Competition = GOOD.

Mid to late 2009 for the PS3 to surpass the x360 total. Europe will fall this year and NA by mid to late next year depending on when FF,GOW3 and GT5 is released.

Europe will fall this yr for sure especially if GTA4 doesn't go well for them. PS3 is still riding off GT5P, GTA4, HAZE and MGS4 momentum. However it is going to take a lot more effort for NA to fall. They are still neck n neck. Home, Price drop, Great E3, and MGS4 being best game of the yr is the kind of effort i am talking about

Yes, they hold on the 360 forecast but if you look even with the increase for the PS they still put it below the 360.

The wii is unstoppable. Wii is the PS3 major threat. Its still early days though but these early signs is not good for the PS3 in my opinion. x360 will surely be third by the end of this gen but market domination will be battled by the PS3 and the wii. Its is very important for Sony to lower the price as fast as they are able to.

how many consols nintendo sells it not that importent. I think alot of pp will own more then 1 consol this generation. Ps3 will be hard to resist for a lot of pp, when the big frencishes come out, and the price drops. the "winner" this gen. will not be decided this year, or the next year....
