Remember Resident Evil 4? Remember the Lake Boss Battle? It seems like the Shark Hunting minigame in Assassin’s Creed IV is looking like a direct copy of Resident Evil 4′s Lake Boss Battle.

You realize there are a lot of different animals in the water you will be hunting in AC4 right? All this game play comes from the Developers of Far Cry 3. Or did they copy RE4 as well?

There are different whale types ( including Killer Whales )

There are different shark types

Killer whale "Orca" is a dolphin might i add

Killer dolphin!

Btw, there are also dolphins in the game. But they are not for hunting.

I've heard a few sources say that the hunting felt like the Del Lago fight from RE4.

That's a good thing, by the way. Such a great boss battle. Anything that takes inspiration from RE4 is doing it right.

Why would they copy off RE4 since its a crap game, unlike AC4 which is a great game

Matt6661835d ago

Wow that's mature, it's called an opinion, oh wait fanboys wouldn't realize that with there small narrow minds, RE4 is crap it lost all it horror aspect and became boring action, but Assassins Creed is a great game

Shinji Mikami, in an interview with IGN, explained that the change was due to the poor reception that the Resident Evil remake had on the GameCube. Apparently, the remake did poorly in sales and Mikami opted for a genre that would be more of a crowd pleaser. “Because of the reaction to the Resident Evil remake,” said Mikami, “I decided to work more action into Resident Evil 4. Resident Evil 4 would have been a more scary, horror-focused game if the remake had sold well.”

Of course, this experience that Mikami’s had with the remake is probably going to carry over to his new IP, The Evil Within, which seems to be a return to the developer’s survival horror roots. “I have kind of a lingering trauma there, because the Resident Evil remake didn’t sell – much more than people would think,” said Mikami.

It was Shinji's intention. And do you realize how successful RE4 was? It's the highest rated and the best seller of the series. It actually made RE rise into fame. And comparing RE to AC makes you look dumb. AC is overrated after brotherhoods, RE is great from 1-4. 5-6 sucked because Shinji wasn't there for capcom.

the only reason he did that because the younger generation came in and decided they didn't like survival horror so he had to make something for the younger market. RE1-CV are the best with the enviroment, sounds, proper monsters (IE zombies, hunters, dogs etc) a story line which made since and was good, weapons that you had to find and the lack of ammo and health items. Unlike 4 and beyond which lost all horror aspect became boring over the top action crap if I wanted play an action game I would buy many that are available. We could argue about this all night but judging by what you said you sound like the younger generation and clearly have no idea what makes a good survival horror. Furthermore it makes me laugh how people say 5&6 sucked (which it did) but then go onto say how 4 is so good even though it's action just like 5&6 so therefore you are being bit hypocritical and the only reason I was comparing the two games is because of the article.

RE4 is fun compared to RE5-6. 5-6 were boring and less scary cause you got partners. at least some point in 4 you'll get silent hill feeling. I know the predecessors are hell scary, no ammo, limited saves, and scary-ass enemies, but 4 is great even it's more action than horror(and made RE4 even more fun with the mechanics). + you're comparing the entire game, not the Lake Boss battle and AC4 minigame.

Now your saying RE4 has a silent hill feeling, silent hill is in a league of its own (possibly some of the most disturbing physiological survival horrors of all time), (until they got to homecoming which went downhill) and RE4 wasn't fun or scary (my opinion) I think I stick to the originals I prefer how the beta of RE4 looked but that the problem with games they can't cater it for everyone which is a shame because the later games could be a lot better then what they turned out to be, I really hate the hole co-op thing on 5-6.

Have to agree on 5-6's coop. I know silent hill is miles away scarier than RE4. What im trying to point is, somehow you'll get the feeling, but not the exact feeling. RE4 ain't scary 85% of the time but is fun 85% of the time. (IMO too) Also agree to you with the beta thing. But RE4 did look great even after the beta. idk, but i think were totally different in terms of preference. You hate RE4 but i love it, you love AC but i don't. maybe you're right, it's just the opinion.

P.S. my last bubble, anyway sorry for being offensive and calling you a homo. Now that ive heard your side, lets just enjoy playing games bro.
