Gaming appearing recession proof as Wii, DS dominate sales

Gas prices are up and consumer confidence is down, which apparently means that Americans are looking to gaming to save them from their woes. Console sales are up 27 percent year to date, according to the latest figures released by NPD Group, and sales are also up across the board compared to March 2007, with the exception of the venerable PlayStation 2. I actually think gaming is pretty affordable.
I don't find it hard to put out $60 for a game or two a month, but I can only speak for myself and a few hardcore gamers.

Well i think gaming is pretty affordable as well.. the recession isn't really affecting me yet... but then again i do get 3 games a month or so..and then some.., i do think gas prices will start to hurt things more here as they keep goin up.. i'm not hurtin yet.. heh we still pay alot less then anywhere else in the world..
