Mighty No. 9's Kickstarter was a huge success, and rightfully so! But what this also shows, is that gamers have an immense desire for more Megaman-like, and why do you believe that is? Well, Capcom has failed gamers, and Megaman. And its time that they admit their mistakes and make a change. But lets go over the latest moves on Capcom's part, where they have completely ignored gamer input for Megaman.
Capcom Spotlight is just around the corner: tune in to see the latest titles being shown off by the Japanese masters.
New IP, please. Used to be (in the 80s) if it was a Capcom game, you knew it was good.

One of the highlights of FanimeCon 2025 was the Capcom cosplay gathering.
Capcom has removed GFWL from PC versions of Lost Planet 1 and 2 as well as other titles on Steam alongside support for online features.
Mighty No 9 actually gets me more worried for Megaman because if(When) Mighty No 9 succeeds Capcom will likely respond with a rush job Megaman game. Just so that they can bleed out your wallet with yet another huge disappointment.
The Kickstarter numbers do appear to show that Capcom are pretty big idiots for not releasing new Mega Man content.
BUT, upon closer inspection, you can see that only 67,000 people donated to the Kickstarter. So while $4 mill is quite impressive, a retail release that only sold 67,000 copies would be a huge disappointment.
So how could you accurately translate Kickstarter numbers to a game that releases on its own at retail or digitally? You can't. We'll never know how much a Mega Man game that looks exactly like Mighty No. 9 would've sold
I agree, 4mil seems a lot but when some people donated over $100 dollars, it's easy to see how it got so much money. On the other hand, if Capcom release a MM game of PSN/XBLA for $10 and 67000 people buy it, that's only like $670,000. Really not enough for capcom to invest in another MM game considering the Mighty no 9 needed $900,000 to even start -_-
Started from the bottom now we're here... I would really like to see what capcom has to say about this. And cap has a tin of money. 4 mil aint shit, ntm what happened to doing/making things bc they are fun. I understand that people generally go into business to make money but sometimes there are things with more than making a simple buck if ooh a rehash of the same game over and over street fighter 4..... dont get me wrong I live the sf franchise and own most of the games but what is the real reason mm hadn't seen proper love
"Capcom...its time to admit you made a HUGE MISTAKE w/ Megaman" lol there more likely to sue before the ever admit making mistakes
