Max Level: "If you’re like me, you’ve been anticipating the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online for what seems to be eons now. When Rockstar gave us a 7 am time frame yesterday for their expected “online-unlocking” update, I cried enormous, Shingeki No Kyojin-like tears of joy. For it was almost my time to embark on an epic alternate life of crime; becoming the Michael Corleone of my time in San Andreas. My heart fluttered as the clock slowly crept towards 4 am pacific standard time. I began sweating profusely as I created my character, my new crime kingpin. But as he was spawned and I was taken to the load screen that precedes being launched into GTA Online bliss, I was met with the bane of my morning/afternoon."

GTA Online's new zombie mode, Ludendorff Cemetery Survival, pulls in 1.2 million players, proving the game is far from dying after 10 years.
The September 17 update for GTA Online on PC introduces Anti-Cheat but in this process removes Steam Deck compatibility.
Who goes outside?
Between this and BF4, I have not seen outside all day. I wish developers could figure out how to stop these issues.
Glad I did not take off work.
Loving the satire. I mean, I can't believe all the backlash that Rockstar is getting today. I understand that people want to be able to use this amazing feature, but you can't expect for a multi-billion dollar game to launch smoothly -- I can't even tell you how many people were trying to get on today. Problems are expected! We all just need to go with the flow and let Rockstar work out the technical issues. Don't worry, folks. We'll all be robbing each other in no time.
I've been playing since it came out, a few issues but never been forced off the game and never been stopped from connecting.
Hopefully it gets resolved soon.
Also, apparently if you're stuck on the first race with "Waiting for players" spamming A on 360 can sort it.
