GTA v isn't the only game that's released three consoles generations running but nothing has sold those numbers including GTA San Andreas which is now 4 console generations deep.

You're either lying or just don't know what pre rendered means. Pre rendered means that if you change the character's appearance (clothes, accessories etc) they wouldn't show up in the cutscenes because they were already made and aren't being rendered in real time. This is something that doesn't happen in Rockstar games.

In fact some of the scenes in RDR2 looked better in the retail version than at launched.

That’s an awful clickbait title. The use of the word ‘as’ means the first statement is the result of the second, when in reality they’re not connected.
Also the same for red dead redemption 2 and GTA trilogy (albeit they split that into individual games)

#1 - Don't take your meds for at least a week.
In my own opinion Free Aim is actually much better. It far easier to line up head shots in Free Aim with Aim Sensitivity at 70%+ (I prefer right about 70%).
I disabled auto-aim and attempted to use "assisted"-aim for a while to give it a chance but just like auto-aim I found it would focus on the wrong target I intended because two or more people were close together that the game "chose" what it thought I wanted. This irritated the living crap out of me and I've gone 100% free aim strictly because of it. I had a similar problem with GTAIV and ended up all free aim on it as well.
Don't get me wrong, like the author mentioned, free aim isn't perfect in GTA. The free aim, regardless of your sensitivity choice, is not a smooth as it can be in comparison to other third person over the shoulder shooters. GTA has a severe tendency to have situations of overshooting or undershooting your target. It's as if the "dead-zones" aren't quite right causing your aiming cursor to go a little to far or just not far enough.
To each his own I guess.
How I increase immersion: get it for PC when it comes
Graphics are a major component of immersion
Ontop of that, throw in a couple pedestrian density and traffic density mods and boom your city now looks and feels more real than ever before
These ideas are good in theory but nobody would be able to do that very often.
