Video games and mass media do not make a great combination. When Grand Theft Auto V isn't being blamed for the world's atrocities, entertainment writers all over the world are searching desperately for a way to write gaming into their scripts for a few forced laughs. Do you know what my favourite depiction of gaming in an entertainment form is.
In Shaun of the Dead when they are playing Timesplitters. That for me is what gaming is about. Sitting on the sofa with a friend having an awesome time with a friendship strong enough to fight off an zombie outbreak. Nothing more and it isn't strained, it just fits.
And no, no one was actually playing Age of Conan when that episode of the Big Bang Theory went out. There references are usually months behind.
The fifth depiction, "Criminal Minds" is so stupid, it's depressing. How many thousands of idiotic mothers did that convince "Video games are evil!" -_-
