you guys aren't really asking why in 6 months+ are you? You really think they will do it 3 months after the PS4 launches? First off, they want to utilize as much sales as possible. Secondly, when has rockstar ever release a GOTY edition of GTA the followng year? Complete edition came out two years later for GTA 4.

If they happen to announce it at VGA's, what do you expect the release to be then? Surely not January, they want to peak players interest in upgrading. Most likely a March to June release which falls in the 6 -8 month period. It's not simply just porting the game over in less than a month or have it already made. It's about releasing it at the right time, this is their highest spent production yet no need to rush their game into a small user base, even if it is a million to two PS4 bought 80 million PS3's sound better

The likely hood is that the Xbone code is just the same as the PC code obviously with the final release version having some performance tweaks per platform. Whereas the PS4 has different code.
This is why there is only signs of PC and PS4 versions.

I'm only making assumptions based on what I've seen Devs saying in other articles about other games.

But I won't bother with GTA V for next gen consoles. On the PS3 and the PC online multiplayer is available for free, ensuring that all of my friends will be able to play the game without having to shell out any money.
I will either get it on the console day 1 for the single player campaign, or wait for the superior PC version which is bound to have a huge online following like any prior GTA game (assuming that it's not the shoddy port work we've seen in GTA IV).

Like I've been saying all along:

GTAV PC will release 6 to 8 months after the console versions.

Seeing leaked footage of GTAV and noticing the BIG difference between PS3/360 and the commercials/trailers makes me 110% sure Rockstar has a PC version ready or almost ready cause the PS3/360 versions do not look as good as the commercials and trailers. Most likely the PC version was used for Promotion.

GTA started on the PC and has always had a PC release.

Every gameplay video that was shown with buttons on screen was ps3 footage, the game looks really well for current gen on both 360 and ps3, ofcourse there will be glitches and the odd performance decrease, the game is massive and packed with content, it really is pushing the old hardware in both consoles to their respective limits.

Ps4/pc/X1 release atleast in 6-8 months is imminent. Heck if the hole game runs as good on the Rockstar vids they might be even out when the new consoles come before the holidays...that really would be a shocker.

They look good but the pop up, jaggies and low framerate spoil it.

You guys can't possible be that naive. There is also a business end to things. Ya know, where a company has to make money in order to pay the bills. LA Noire is not GTA...not even in the same league.

GTA is R* flagship franchise. The reason Microsoft pays so much money is because the costs have to be covered. Sony doesn't get some kind of discount.

GTA4 has sold over 25 million copies since release...GTA5 is expected to be even bigger....you think R* would miss out on that many sales without any compensation to make up for it? You think they'd miss out on any next gen sales by making its biggest grossing title exclusive.

First, although the X1 is more custom, it's still close to PC tech. If they can develop simultaneous for PS360, two VERY different architectures, X1 and PS4 would be a cakewalk, Not the problem.

Secondly, I don't know how else to say this, GTA is unlike ANY other franchise out there. There is no gravy on top of releasing GTA on a single platform. PERIOD..it sells too much to gimp it. Activision wouldn't do it with COD. It's a silly pipe dream...let go.

But what about Red Dead Redemption? How much money would R* get if that went to PC? How many of R*'s fans are still wanting it to come to PC? But they didn't do it.

All I'm saying is nobody is going to wait for next gen to buy the game. I know I won't. But at the same time I'll probably will buy it for next gen. So thats just more money from one consumer. Thats probably how it will go down for most people.

GTA V will dominate in sales in this Gen. And if Sony has to throw a little cash at R* plus getting the PS4 sales. Letting X1 go is not going to make them regret it. Because they will already be doing more than well. Thats not even including sales from PC.

I expect it has to do with the money Rockstar received from Sony for an exclusive on the PS3 that never came out. First it was LA Noire then Agent. When neither came out and Sony was in the middle of developing the PS4 they went to Rockstar and were able to secure GTA V for PS4. Rockstar will easily make their money back on GTA V from the current gen versions. So putting GTA V out on just the PS4 using the money Sony gave them would be just pure profit. Also it would be huge for Sony despite so many people saying it would make no sense to make it exclusive.

Install base man. Rockstar would want to sell as many copies as they can on current gen consoles and keeping a tight lip about next gen version is a good strategy. The earliest I expect is maybe next fall with a GOTY edition releasing on all formats to maximize profit due to a bigger install base on next gen hardware.

Orbis was still being used even at E3 and later. When the PS4 crashed it brought up the Orbis. But at the same time PS4 kinda had a head start with the whole next-gen kit. Xbox One might not have got their kit in time.

Gonna happen. Rockstar lathers their games in 3rd party DRM out of unnecessary fear of piracy. It's no surprise that they're delaying the PC launch to sell as much as possible on consoles first, before they act shocked about selling millions more on PC. Might also have to do with GFWL collapsing, and them having to transition over to Steamworks (and hopefully not something else) for the online architecture.

It will also likely come to PS4/bone in 2014.

With a map like V has, we need lots of players and anything less than 64 is not enough.

I want a Cops n Robbers mode like the 200 player servers on SA-MP, whole map to explore, one team cops other team civilians. We could go illegal animal hunting, fishing etc.. without a permit and a cop on the radar = wanted level. So much things they could do better than in SA-MP i just hope they dont half ass it.

its what the game is made on and where all the "bullshots" come from where the game looks all smooth and high resolution and everything looks perfect

that's why now, when we see actual ps3/360 gameplay it looks awful, covered in jaggies and everything is popping in like crazy and the shadows look terrible and it runs like crap

the pc version is done, and has been done the longest and will be the BEST verison, better than ps4, better than xbox1 and 1000x better than the awful ps3/360 versions

A majority of people most likely have computers that don't give a greater experience of the game than the console versions do graphically. On top of that, it's much easier when setting up online play for consoles than PC and playing with friends is generally more enjoyable and laid back (Couch fun!). A lot of tradies, and simple folk in this field just want to play their games without any hassles (Plug and play you could say). It might look and run crappier, but non-gaming enthusiasts will still have fun with the experience anyway as all the gameplay is still there to enjoy. I just hope that they do release a PC version before Christmas, as a PC gamer and I'm assuming you are too, we want them sweet visuals! Though I might get it for PS4 when it hopefully comes out, as most friends I know will be gaming on there! :)

J think this game will sell, but i feel like this game wont sell as good as some think. Thats just mhp, i hear no one talking bout this game outside of the n4g, i hear more people talking about ps4 and kz:s, i want gtav to sell huge. I better be wrong

This could very well be just generic engine code. It is certainly being used on a next gen and pc game.

Don't worry though, there will be a PC version at some point.

i'm guessing its best to get it on the ps3 because playstation said that if a ps3 game releases on the ps4 you can buy it for half off or something like that

Cool the inevitable next gen version release hoping it comes before or early next year on the PC|XBone|PS4. GTA V should have been one of those play now and pay like $10 to upgrade to digital version of the game.

I wish Rockstar could be upfront with us consumers and just say if there is coming a next-gen version. I know I will be pissed off if I buy it and some months later they announce it for the PS4 and XBO.

I want to experience GTA5 as best as possible...if that means waiting 6 months or so...I have no problems with that.

Ps4 version or not I'm still getting it on release... 6 to 8 months is too long too wait for me especially when games like Destiny and The Division will be releasing around that time and require my undivided attention.

Rock* have been fooling people with those hires screenshots which are most likely from the pc version and no one has said a word.

The actual game doesn't look quite as good on the 360/ps3. There must be a law against such fake advertising.

Just buy the game and enjoy it, if it releases on next gen/pc then great. But until then, I'm going to enjoy me some GTA V. I'm not waiting for it to release on pc.
