Ron Burke gives a hands-on preview of rain - "Born as a stealth title, the game has morphed into something unique and compelling. While we wait for the October release date for the PSN-exclusive from PlayStation C.A.M.P., Acquire, and SCE Japan, we’ve got a brief look at the first few levels of the game. Much like the recently-released Puppeteer, this game is different, and once again, different is good."
What it feels like to be lost in the dark in the puring rain? Well, PSN exclusive Rain might have an answer for that..
CDW:Occasionally the timing of the puzzles can be frustrating, and waiting for your companion to catch up can be tedious, but overall the gameplay is simple and effective. On occasion it feels as though the gameplay sections are in the way of the rest of the game which is a shame but again it’s not enough to spoil the real enjoyment of Rain. Definitely worth a play for anyone interested in an emotion driven platformer with an atmosphere in keeping with Limbo.
Jarrett from IP writes: "rain succeeds in various ways, but fails in the most important ones. It’s a beautiful narrative, presentation, along with an adoring gloom and darkness, but it’s lazy platforming causes uninspired puzzling, and insipid artificial intelligence. These factors hold rain back from being only slightly better than average."
I'm looking forward to this title. Unfortunately I won't be able to get it immediately (just like Puppeteer) because I can really only afford one game for now and it's easy to guess which one :)
