this is a great looking game and it's free to play. not hidden behind a paywall(xbox live) and no monthly fee (Oblivion Online). With Black Light, DC Universe, Plantside 2, and Warframe all being free to play and not behind a pay wall, I'm going to be very busy. Just another way that Sony is showing that it's in touch with what gamers really want and micro$oft isn't. Hello Don Mattrick.

On topic: All the F2P is the reason I didn't buy more launch games. I'm particularly interested in War Thunder, Guns of Icarus and Planetside 2. I've played some Blacklight, and it's good, but Planetside 2 is one of the best F2P games ever... if not, the best.

Played it on the PC. It looks like it has been slowed down a bit to accommodate the fact you are using a gamepad on PS4 but overall looks very similar. Visuals have also been downgraded a bit. That or the video compression really killed the fidelity.

This is a very good FPS for a free game. Try it out people!

Not to drive home the point but it really is free to play. Buy the console, plug it in, download the game and play for free. No PS+ subscription needed if you want to just see what the game is like.

Gives the customer choice of whether they want a subscription or not. Do not understand why XB1 fans are not pushing harder for MS to get more free services not hidden behind the paywall. It is a great selling point!

The thing is most of us have gold account so we can play forza, halo, COD ,BF etc. online anyway. I am not buying an X1 just so I can play F2P games that I already play on my PC.I have a great PC so playing those games on high settings is nothing new to me. When I get my Ps4, it will be for the exlusives.

Disagree with him all you want, but I've actually played the game and he's right. It's exactly like CoD and KZ gameplay. So much so that I'd say don't buy those if you're going for multiplayer and just play this for free. Think it lasted about 2 days on my hdd since I've played that same gameplay 100x over. Not bad just no real innovation.

I am a late free to play adopter but just recently i started playing all the free games available through psn without ps_+ and it was a breath of fresh air on my ps3.

THe game is fun once u get the hang of the see thru the walls visor ! LPayed it for a few months on PC, doesn't feel like F2P game at all. My only complaint was that everything in this game is BLACK ! the walls, floor, guns, soldiers, everything !
Looking forward to playing it on the ps4 with a proper controller

The developers already stated, in the 1 hour long playthrough video, that there will not be any micro-transactions that actually give you an advantage. You can buy stuff visually but nothing will change game-play wise, You have to earn all that by unlocks.

I don't want to get too carried away with buying games next gen, so the more F2P games the better. At present I don't even have a software title to go alongside my PS4 at launch, but for the first time ever that's not going to matter (although I'll probably end up getting a couple of titles anyway).

Glad he mentioned the unlocks will be changed. That's why I stopped playing it on the PC. I wasn't willing to pump $ into it, and it was an insane grind just to unlock 1 attachment for a gun, and that was just unlocking it for a few days or so. To unlock an upgrade permanently would take forever.

It would be nice if they allowed you to unlock everything for like $30+ dollars, instead of making you pay some crazy amount of money to unlock all the guns, customizations, addons and perks 1 by 1.

I really enjoyed Blacklight I have to say. Very good for a free to play game and very pretty to boot. The gameplay sits somewhere between Call of Duty in its pace but the gunplay and customisation makes it unique I feel. I like the level design as well. All the maps are very well crafted and clearly planned and built by guys that know there stuff.

I think all these F2P games will get LOTS of attention on the ps4. If you just spent your savings on a ps4 1-2 games the next thing you are going to do when you get bored is DL these games and most of the time lots of them are actually quite fun. Not hte most cutting edge in terms of gfx story etc but gameplay wise they can get addicting for something thats completely free. Sony has done a really good job getting PC devs to develop on their console I am still waiting for all the F2P MMOs to join the party (hoping they allow cross-play with M+KB support).

Just watched the video. Looks great. I especially like the urban feel to it. Glad they are trying to make PS4 and PC versions as similar as possible.

And it will come to the XB1 sometime next year. I hope all these free to play games spread across XB1/PS4/PC eventually. Who knows, we could all play the same game and same map at the same time but on different consoles/PC..

I never had interest in Blacklight when it released on PC. And my lack on interest transfered to it's PS4 announcement.

But, I have to say - after watching the video - it looks pretty decent.

After playing Battlefield, a game with huge maps, different classes and vehicles, total destruction, it's kind of hard to backtrack and play games where all you do is run around and shoot people. That's old, developers need to step their game up. Why play a game where everyone runs in an alley shooting when you can play a game where tank, jets, helicopters, etc. are involved in the battle?

And why do people keep bragging about some games not requiring PS+? You can't play Killzone, Watchdogs, Battlefield without it, so who the hell wouldn't get PS+? If you're telling me you won't shell out $50 a year for the service, but end up buying 7 games in a year priced around $65 each, then you seriously suck at managing your money.
