I don't see how these review sites can keep pumping these high reviews out when the developer have all but said a collective "fuck you" to anyone who hasn't' bought the game yet. Digital sales have been frozen for well over a week without any official word regarding the matter.

I may come off as a brat but their handling of their "online service" during a launch window is just as shoddy as what EA did to SimCity yet all we are seeing is glowing reviews?

Look at Diablo III when it came out. Look at Sim City when it came out.

The fact of the matter is that very few MMORPGs or online-only games have their release day come and go without a bit of a hiccup.

This article is a review of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, as a game and how it plays. It is not an opinion piece on how smooth (or rough, as the case may be) the release was. Give it some time, and soon your issue will be inconsequential.

But if you still want to gripe, please feel free to write up your own bit stating your opinions. I would love to read what you have to say in your own outlet.

Shouldn't be too long before they get it up and running again. It's a fantastic game that I've put in about 70+ hours already.

Digital sales maybe down but retail sales have been unaffected I prefer having a box anyway. Playing ARR is much much better the 1.0 and I'm having a great time.

Part of me is glad this turned out great and the other part of me is that it should have been buried long ago.
