Assassin's Creed on the PC: bad UI, bad DRM, bad port

When everyone found out that Assassin's Creed would be coming to PCs, and that the game would be distributed through Steam, everyone was happy. PC gamers get a quality title and fans of Steam don't have to leave the house to buy the game. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like much care was put into the PC port, and problems have begun popping up all over the Internet. ars technica takes a look at some of the mistakes made.

DRM aside since they got it running on the 360, all they needed to do for the PC port was a recompile..?

Okay, sure, it's not THAT easy, but since both systems are built are Windows and DirectX (hardware abstraction), why this has happened to tbe PC version is a bit of a mystery.

And PC versions are usually a lot better too(!)

Is a textbook example of style over substance. Nice looking, fairly innovative controls, gameplay that'll put you to sleep. It's one boring game.
