EDGE: "When Keiji Inafune left Capcom in 2010, the company cancelled his remaining Mega Man projects – and the fans were not exactly quiet in their dismay. But vindication is upon Inafune, as Mighty No. 9 – a spiritual successor to the hardcore platforming series devised by Inafune and a team of ex-Mega Man staff, led by his company Comcept and announced on 31 August – met its Kickstarter crowdfunding funding goal of $900,000 in less than 24 hours.
At the time of writing the project has amassed just shy of $1.5 million with 26,000 backers, and is nearing the third of its stretch goals (which means it is coming to PC, Mac and Linux as an extended game). We caught up with the very busy Inafune to hear his thoughts on crowdfunding, the project’s genesis and how Capcom might respond."
