DaJuan of Corrupted Cartridge writes about the PS Vita, and how it is not anywhere near it's deathbead that other publications would like to believe
Just got my Vita, It's awesome! Playstation plus makes it a God like purchase. I recommend it for hardcore gamers who need to scratch that itch when away from your main gaming source. With the PS4 coming out this holiday coupled not to mention the recent price drop. I expect the Vita to do well.
I'm ordering mine next week. For all new Vita owners concerned, the Rocketfish Vault Case for Vita will be $9.99 (regularly 20 bucks) at Bestbuy next week!
Happy Gaming. Get P4G, P3P, Dragon's Crown, LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, Gravity Rush, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Dead or Alive 5 Plus, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Wipeout 2048, Muramasa Rebirth, Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition, Soul Sacrifice, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Gran Turismo, MotorStorm Arctic Edge,VC2, Ultimate Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Gravity Rush... And soon to come, Killzone, Batman, Tearway.
I'll def get all of those at some point. So many games!
Really want to get a PS Vita...not sure if I should get one now or wait until the inevitable "Vita Slim" or perhaps an "upgraded" Vita with a higher res screen? Decisions decisions lol Either way, i def need to get one to go with my PS4 :D
The only thinks I can think of for them to improve with their design is maybe making it more stable from drops (sometimes the memory card goes wonky if I accidentally drop it somehow). That and making the camera better. Being perfectly frank, Sony doesn't do the Nintendo thing of completely changing how their handheld systems look. I'd just get one now.
If your tight on money, you could also wait till Black Friday, but thats 3 months away. But if you have the money now, that Walking Dead bundle is a killer deal.
The screen right now is great
It's a slow burn, geared for longevity instead of instant smash hit :)
Exactly like psp vs ds. 3DS (DS) Destroys VITA (PSP) in sales. VITA (PSP) continues to not outsell 3DS (DS) but finds a rather large market of ? Million (80 million). It'll be fine. Remember a year head start plus a 6 month price cut plus easier and cheaper to develop for plus brand loyalty and a proven track record of dominating the handheld market puts you in a VERY big advantage.
It better not. I'd like to see some more support from AAA 3rd party devs though. Where the hell is PSO2 and FF Type 0? I feel it's being horribly neglected.
In japan lol. Like 30-40% of the VITA's games are in japan.
Sad but true, can´t believe it is 2013 and devs in Japan still refuse to globalise. I mean, make the games in English first, digital release (if they are concerned whether the games will sell in the west) and THEN translate them to Japanese (or just make subtitles to begin with...as an option, would that be sooo hard????)
No its not going anywhere.. Will be around a long time. Hopefully the ps4 release will boost sales cus its a powerful hand held device
im really hoping for a vita ps4 bundle
Of course it's not going anywhere. It's only just started. It hasn't even made 24 months yet...The price cut followed by games like Killzone, Tearaway are going to sell it. Not to mention God Eater 2 in Japan will sell it like crazy too. Oh, and don't know if you know but Infamous Vita has actually been getting teased more and more recently. Nate Fox slipped something in an interview. So good news on that part. ^_^
After getting my hands on a Vita for the first time at Gamescom last week, I decided to buy one. I love it. I'm not much of handheld person but the Vita has me extremely impressed. I'm surprised Sony hasn't offered the Vita with a free month of Plus. The Vita coupled with PS Plus is a ridiculous value. If Sony started pushing that value hard I think they'll sell more units.
Actually the vita is going somewhere, wherever I go I bring my vita. Console gaming on the go.
There's room for 2 portables with no subscription fees and relatively cheap price in the market. Both the Vita and 3DS are going to sell at least 50 million units each. Don't worry about it.
Problem with the article IMO, is the implied heavy reliance on Bioshock VITA (as an exclusive). This is officially still up in the air. Using Borderlands 2 as a "flagship" entity to tout incoming 3rd party support is exaggerated as it's basically Sony funded and not in equal footing to something a 3rd party game that's only published by non-Sony parties. We're almost at the 2 year mark and the author has made remarks that Nintendo rose up from a year and a half. It's sad to see this system no meeting its potential.
It's not like the game would wind up on the 3DS or something. Borderlands 2 is a big title. People knowing you can play it on the go via the Vita is gonna be a huge enough draw that you could call it "flagship" in terms of third party support. What I don't get is what potential you think the Vita isn't meeting.
