Watch Dogs Hands-On preview | Gamereactor UK

GR-UK writes: "The session left me feeling both impressed and a little worried about Watch Dogs. Judging by the code I played there seems to be a lot of work left for Ubisoft until the release in just three months time. But I'm still hopeful they can pull it off and deliver a game that lives up to the high expectations come November, as I would hate to see this game released in anything but a polished and pristine state."

What is going on with all these half ass next gen games? The clock is ticking, time is of the essence! It's seems like most of these developers recieved their dev kits 4 or 5 months ago. I don't wanna unnecessarily overreact but WE ONLY HAVE THREE MONTHS LEFT!

Pressure to get it done in time for the next gen consoles release. We can expect it for launch games, but i hope Ubi and other devs don't make a habit out of this.

This is and has always been the case. I am forever hearing "with the release date *so and so many* months away, hopefully they can get it ready in time..."

of this gen and the next.

The build was probably a few weeks old, and a ton of code cleanup always gets done pre-launch. I wouldn't wory about it, this game is going to sparkle.

Funny how they actually expect us to pay MORE for a next gen release when 1. The new consoles are easier to develop for and 2. Games are being rushed to release at certain times.

Johnsonparts232267d ago

what do you mean more? the games are priced the same as this gen.

@ Johnsonparts23

Not in the UK. The Amazon UK prices are ridiculous for some games. Jack Tretton was talking about the US when he said prices would stay the same :(

I was planning on getting KZ,BF4 and Watchdogs when my launch day ps4 arrives but I think I've since changed my mind, watch dogs now compared to when it was shown at last year's E3 slowly disappoints me more and more and this last preview as set my mind to change out watchdogs for blackflag!

I'm not worried about it. Polish and optimization happens mostly in the last few months.

I'm getting this game on PC anyway and the PC was lead development platform for it. Not to mention that Ubisoft has a partnership with Nvidia to bring advanced graphics features to the PC versions of their games. So the PC version should be something quite special.

But I think it will be a great game on any platform. The kinks will be ironed out and the final product will be fantastic.
