"On the twentieth anniversary of the original's 16-bit release, Ubisoft together with developers VectorCell, (they of the really quite bad Amy fame) have decided to release a high-definition remake of 16-bit action platformer title, Flashback. Sure, its not exactly a remake that folks have clamoured for but sadly it does little to endear itself either; succumbing to a writhing mass of flaws, bugs and glitches which drag the game down into a pit of numbing misery."
GOG is giving away Flashback as part of their Summer Sale. All you have to do to add Flashback to your collection is go to the GOG website or the game’s page.
Andrew M writes: "Almost three decades after the release of the original, Microids has announced that Flashback 2 will launch for console and PC in 2022."
I have zero faith in the execution after how bad that remake was.
Doesnt need a sequel.
An award-winning action-adventure game, developed by Paul Cuisset in 1992, Flashback holds a Guinness record and is one of the first games to use rotoscope technology for realistic animations. In it, you travel the universe in the year 2142 with amnesia stricken protagonist Conrad while he dives headlong into an insidious alien plot. This game will no doubt prove a time capsule of memories for some and nothing can ruin that. However, for those of you who have never played the original, Flashback Mobile offers a somewhat different experience.
This game was cutting edge on debut. I want to think I may have had this on 3DO, can’t remember. Maybe SegaCD.
Oof.
Ooooooooooof.
I guess this is one to skip from the Summer of Arcade, huh?
Seems like in every SoA there is one duck lamer than the rest.
Unless TMNT turns out to be a bucket of slash, then this'll be it.
