Trailer looks awesome. Hopefully the gameplay is fun.

It's very fun, but there's waiting times to get on as the servers are a wee bit over-full at the moment.

@BldyShdw I'm currently playing the PS3 version and apart from some PC models popping in/out randomly it plays fine.

BldyShdw4323d ago

Do you know if the ps3 version is any good?

Abriael4323d ago

@BldyShdw: it's good. Obviously not as good as the PC version, but for a last generation console it's def. good. The controller interface is also awesome.

Great point Abriael,

On gamepad integration, Other MMORPG's need to take note on how Squeenix does it. It pretty much perfect.

my god... that... that lip sycing... *erupts into a 70's hong kong action movie* well its not that bad but yeah... should be fun :')

Abriael4323d ago

Yeah, the Japanese version is much better. luckily the game allows dual audio with subtitles :D

This game is getting 3's and 4's on reviews.

Wrong game. FFXIV is not FFXIV:ARR; FFXIV:ARR is not FFXIV

Do you not see this happening during development? Like, why are we apologizing after the fact instead of stopping it during development?

Stopac3d ago

Criticism and reflection occur after the fact. The apology acknowledges the past criticisms with the new expansion and they're keeping transparency with players about it. Now that they've acknowledged it - it will be interesting to see what kind of cycle we'll get with a new expansion and I wonder if they're planning something special with beast master since they didn't mention it in the last live letter.

It's all good, as long as the price of the product decreases.

Stopac3d ago

The base game and expansion go on sale all the time and doesn't stay full price for very long since a new expansion is on the horizon.

If you're stating they should reduce the price of new expansions or the sub fee, no, that's not gonna happen lmao people aren't even complaining about that. They are criticizing the same old pattern of content that releases and how it is devolving into mediocracy.

"They are criticizing the same old pattern of content that releases and how it is devolving into mediocracy."

The product should be cheaper then.

I was unhappy with DT and have spent far less time in it than any other expansion but it's things like this that makes me respect Yoshi P. It's rare for such a high profile developer to be so candid in his assessment on a live game.

Stopac3d ago

Same, i've found my self resubbing every two patches instead of keeping it up. Don't own a home in the game so there's no point in keeping a constant sub going. The post story is getting interesting though.
