DC Universe Online’s New DLC Gets Screenshots, Release Date

The eight official DLC for DC Universe Online, Sons of Trigon, has finally been given an official release date as well as a bevy of new screenshots.

Ahhhh DCUO. The game was and is supposed to die after every aaa title, every mmo, console mmo or not, or just a regular game release.

Every game that comes out, or announced is another rivet in its suspended animation chamber.

Was never supposed to make it out of development. 6 months after the game launch was to never make it. F2P, the psn hack, this game, that game, the FF14 coming out, the GTA5 coming out, Diablo 3 coming out and players jumping ship only to sneak back in the fold. Yet here it is going still going strong.

Despite its flaws, bugs, glitches, the lag and freezes on the ps3 side. Say what you will about SoE, good, bad, indifferent... What DCUO has offered from the get go is something that seems to be slowly going by the wayside... something called FUN FACTOR.

Its free (microtransactions and legendary subscriptions offered)

Its DC.

Its a helluva lot of fun and easily addicting.

Hope you last as long as Star Wars SWG, or longer as Everquest, FF11 and so on.

great game but the pay 2 win is strong in this one. i mean really my grinding won't even pay off? would rather pay for 1 full game

There is no pay to win. It's certainly true that there are missions you can't access without buying the DLC or having Legendary, and it's true that these missions have gear you can't get otherwise.

But you can lose to someone with a free account just as readily as you can lose to someone with Legendary.

What matters is whether or not you suck.

dude u cant even access all your cash unless you pay, have you fought anyone with those dlc powers ? they r op as fuck especially green lantern and i think im good enough given wat i hav access to.

None of the powers are particularly OP. However, there ARE strengths and weaknesses. Hard Light- and ALL troll powers- have an advantage over all healing powers. I'm primarily a Sorcery healer, so yeah, I know what it's like to get dominated by a Lantern.

That said, I've also sent many a controller packing, because I know what I'm doing.

The money limit does suck, but how does that help you "win?" It's a moderate hindrance when it comes to repairing/modding your gear, but anything you can't afford without dipping into escrow is probably something you couldn't use anyway without Legendary or the requisite DLC.

And if you're going against another player, the best gear to have is PVP gear, which you don't have to have any DLC or Legendary to obtain, even at the best level.

i played dcuo from release up until 2 months ago, as a former guide writer for this game I just couldn't stand replay badges and the constant need to upgrade gear especially with seasons and constant remodding . only thing great about this game is pvp and the developers keep finding ways to destroy it even more . Going to FF14 and never looking back

The whole point of the game is to give you new stuff to keep you coming back. New missions, new gear, new feats, etc. That's the whole point of DC Universe: doing all these things with characters you created.

Replay badges were an addition. You don't have to use em.
