I think they have to beat Sony to the launch. Week before, earlier in the week, anytime earlier. Sounds stupid but some people just can't wait for the next gen systems. People always want the newest thing. And if the X1 can be the first new thing, I think they will do better (sales wise) then if they wait after the PS4.

It's no secret the PS4 presales have been better and in turn will sell more on launch day. MS needs to release early to grab those on the fence. Because whatever system is out first will get a lot of coverage. So if X1 releases a week early, they have 1 week of publicity, news topics, game reviews, etc. People may look and say "Wow, look at that I gotta have it."

I just think from a PR and sales perspective, it makes sense to launch before PS4. Sony's choice of launch date was strategic and a good call. Right in the middle of the month. You got black friday and thanksgiving around the corner, maybe the X1's won't be ready to sell at beginning of the month, so right in the middle was a smart move. Really puts MS in a box (no pun intended lol). I'll say the week of November 4th.

November 5th, same day as Call of Duty Ghost! Only makes sense as the Xbox is the Call of Duty Console. That would be a massive Release Day.

retailers wouldnt allow it to be same day.. too much chaos..

not to mention you arent wrong... giving all thats gone on... having both sides lining up side by side would lead to violence..

as for the FCC thing.. why are people even looking into such a thing? so desperate to win arguments we look for anything!!! lol..

in any case.. approval is only needed to sell in the states... manufacturing can begin whenever they want.. companies like these know damn well if their product will pass cert. its just a game console.. nothing new really..

Once we get news of the FCC certification for XB1, we'll have a better idea of when they'll be able to launch. I'm sure MS will get XB1 out as early as they can. They don't want to give Sony the advantage of an earlier launch at a cheaper price point.

Without the FCC they probably have not started production but that's just a guess, Sony Def caught ms off guard imo. Think this why they have reduced territories cause they have not got the FCC yet, not slating ms or anything just my opinion
