EA impresses at Gamescom, despite too many buzzwords and too few genuinely new games

EDGE: "With a new generation about to appear, the buzzword trick of slapping a sheen of the new to familiar concepts seems wrongly placed. Isn’t this year, of all years, meant to bring us boatloads of genuinely new things?

At Gamescom, EA is answering this question with no big new announcements, but a lot of promises for what the next generation holds. That’s not to say that its roster of games for the coming twelve months haven’t any ambition or verve, but what it says about EA’s vision for the next generation is definitely telling."

One thing I would say about EA is they do their conferences like pantomimes. The UFC intro thing was extremely uncomfortable to watch and it didn't stop their (BF player talk thing). I think EA has some good franchises that could do the talking for them. EA you don't need to add these awkward moments.

OT
I think they did okay but I wouldn't say I was impressed. I thought they had a much stronger showing at E3.

Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....

This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.

Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?
