After a series of turnarounds and with FIFA and Call Of Duty in its corner, following Microsoft was a more difficult task for Sony at Gamescom. At E3, all PlayStation had to do was turn up and collect the spoils, but here, with significantly revised competition and the temperature rising ever higher as we lead into launch, if felt like Sony needed to remind us exactly why it has gathered so much goodwill with its new console.
"A few years ago, a mobile game developer called Super Evil Megacorp had the brilliant idea of making a TMNT roguelike. After first releasing it on Apple Arcade, they wisely recognized the game’s potential on other platforms. TMNT: Splintered Fate has slowly but surely come to all major platforms, finally arriving on Xbox today. Not only is Splintered Fate a fine roguelike and co-op game, but it’s also one of the best TMNT games ever made," says Co-Optimus.

"Dodge Roll and Devolver Digital's Enter the Gungeon is a hit twin-stick shooter roguelike that debuted nearly ten years ago. Since then, it has received several DLCs and a single-player spin-off called Exit the Dungeon. Well, it seems that there's more life left in Enter the Gungeon yet. It's finally coming to Android and iOS, and with online co-op not found in the big-screen versions," says Co-Optimus.
It may not have had many triple AAA games announcements, but it did answer most of the remaining questions regarding the PS4, and that's what matters the most. Games will come, inevitably. PSV was served in games, price cut, so was the PS3. The PS4 has a release date. Infamous and Shadow Fall still look amazing. Shadow of the Beast got me more than hooked. And Naughty Dog is confirmed to work on the PS4. That was a good conference.
I wouldn't say "trump" this time. It was packed with games but it was missing that "WOW"-announcement.
I really expected announcements from Sony's european developers ...but at least they did a conference in the first place. And Shadow of the Beast could turn out pretty huge, hopefully they have big plans with it. (in terms of budget)
The last comment towards the Xbox is hilarious. Everyone picked on it which was funny. It's good that Sony stuck to their vision. This Gen they had a vision with the ps3 and stuck to it even with all the bad press. Microsoft should have done the same because now the question is whats their vision?
Vita pricedrop, Minecraft, Shadow of the Beast and release date, good.
The Last Guardian remade for PS4 at Tokyo Game Show? let's hope so
They showed games... A LOT of them, and sure, a good number of them were indie titles, but they all look fun. I'm just glad we're getting more games.
