Microsoft: Don't Worry, 'Halo Xbox One' Won't Actually Be Called 'Halo Xbox One'

Forbes - Today, Microsoft unveiled a list of game titles it expects to be available for the Xbox One when it launches later this year, and some of the usual suspects are there; Forza Motorsport 5, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag are all represented. But one game’s name – perhaps the most anticipated game for the new system – is a bit of a mystery, and that’s the new game from the Halo franchise that Microsoft simply referred to as “Halo Xbox One”.

I cannot believe Forbes actually felt the need to contact Microsoft about this.

I was just about to ask if this was even necessary... Did they actually think that was going to be the official name?

I'm 100% sure they knew this wasn't going to be the name, but the idea of hopefully getting a reply from MS, so they can make a story out of it was just too damn sweet.

Can you blame em though?

I mean after all, most mainstream media outlets know just about ZERO about the entire video games industry, so I can't really say it surprises me even a little bit that they didn't know what they were talking about.

Was anybody actually worrying about this?

Queasy2821d ago

Yes, Matt Hickey from Forbes apparently. Heh

You can never be too sure:

^ Yes, those are the official names for the games

Lol, the amount of effort put into that is funny.

Just call it 5 or "Spartan".. Something and call it a day.

I'm sure MS needed to clarify this. We wouldn't want 20+ articles submitted to N4G saying that MS is doomed for naming the next Halo: "Halo Xbox One".

Lord know we would have had the usual's saying MS is dead and a million blogs written about it.
