Indeed, as one of the most anticipated releases of 2008-Bethesda now has it tentatively scheduled as a fall release-when you have a chance to see some new gameplay, you drop pretty much everything and scurry to wherever the publisher sets up its game system and display.
The gameplay we saw is still relatively rough, making it impossible to offer any kind of definitive assessment of how it'll play in final form, but it's coming together nicely, with plenty of nuances already on display. There's also a lot of humor in such environmental elements as the signs around Vault 101, bulletin boards and the like, and we were already impressed by little touches, such as how the loading screen offers a selection of statistics and your level progress taken directly from your gameplay. It's really no surprise that the publisher behind Oblivion would pack every corner of the game with detail, so you can be assured there'll be a lot to absorb in Fallout 3 as well."
