The Co-op Podcast 56: Does The Xbox One Launch Line-up Offer More Variety Than PS4′s?

Gary Swaby of writes: On this week's episode of The Co-op we welcome former guests Anthony Frasier and Jakejames Lugo back to discuss some of the latest in gaming. During one of our discussions we digressed onto an unintended topic, in which we evaluated whether the Xbox One launch is indeed stronger (and more varied) than the Playstation 4. It's a question that will likely come down to personal preference, but I personally feel as though we'll still be treated to a few launch titles we have yet to learn of.

As for our main topics, we started out discussing the recent news that the Kinect no longer needs to be connected to the Xbox One for it to function. It seems as though Microsoft has been doing everything they can to improve the Xbox One's reputation, and this latest change should bring a halt to a lot of the initial complaints.

Today we'll be getting the first look at the Call of Duty: Ghost multiplayer, and then tomorrow we have the Grand Theft Auto V multiplayer reveal to look forward to. With both of these blockbuster I.P's revealing their multiplayer gameplay in the same week, who will have the better showing? We each gave our expectations, so let us know what you think and be on the lookout for the Call of Duty footage later today.

Of course it does. Well to me at least.. but then again depends what type of game you are into.

I much prefer the PS4's launch line-up variety. It has a big exclusive holiday shooter with Killzone: Shadow Fall, an eye-candy racer that's the middle-ground between arcade and simulation with a cool team racing feature in DriveClub, and a 3D platformer focusing on puzzles, story, and a character that has quite a few different forms.

Those are three exclusives I feel really help make the PS4 feel well rounded right at launch and Sony can market it to many types of gamers, including families and younger gamers with Knack

You know Drive Club isn't being released this year, right?

Is think the Xbox does as of now. But, by next week this time I'm sure it will all change. Could change for either company. It's both company's convention to loose

Are both of them really that diverse? Both have a racing game, Both have an action game/games of sorts, one has a fighter while the other has a child friendly game

It is like comparing manhood sizes with two small manhoods

Well killzone SF,drive club and Infamous SS(coming in February 2014 or around that time I think) look great to me, but I'm not buying a ps4 for launch games. I'm buying one because I know I'll see high quality exclusives throughout its life. Im looking forward to what all the other 1st party studio's are working on
