inXile CEO: Microsoft is walking the walk with new indie-friendly stance

CEO of Wasteland 2 developer inXile Entertainment Brian Fargo spoke about the changes he is already starting to see in how Microsoft treats independent developers in the wake of their policy shift on self-publishing we learned about a few weeks ago. And he says they’re being way nicer now.

Man, as soon as Don Mattrick left everything has been going great with the X1 and Xbox in general, if only he left sooner. Not that pre-order numbers will determine the outcome of nextgen but it would have had a much stronger start at least.

anything that helps Indy games get to new gamers is great.

In other words thank you Sony for setting the example.

IcicleTrepan1987d ago

Don't you mean thank you to indie developers for being very vocal about what they didn't like in Microsoft's policies?

IanVanCheese1987d ago

Good to see, the games industry needs indie games. Who else will the triple AAA publishers rip off lol?

AznGaara1987d ago

Other AAA developers of course. I mean how do you think we got into this FPS slump? Lol

But yes glad to see more indie games can come to the xbone now.

Nice to hear. More games being developed, more jobs for programmers. Good news indeed.

Fargo is an industry vet. He's not talking for the sake of it.

This be good news. I wouldn't trust MS as far as I could throw them, but they provide quality competitive pressure in the marketplace, and stop Sony from getting too out-there (see the Cell chip ;)).
