Then they shouldn't have opened their mouths... Nvidia is really going downhill as far as I'm concerned. I used to love them, but now I'll go with AMD all day long. Nvidia is just way too outspoken against consoles for its own good. I'm primarily a PC gamer, but I can (and do) appreciate what consoles have to offer. As an old school, and real gamer. I openly embrace all consoles (PC, Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation).
Personally I'll stick with buying hardware based on performance, which NVidia still does have an edge and runs cooler/more efficiently. I could give 2 cents about what some PR is blowing smoke about while another guy is shoving a carrot up his behind. I'll make my own opinions and decisions and if a pc gpu maker sayss he thinks consoles are underpowered, so what, he has the right. He's entitled to own opinion, which face it isn't totally off base. In some ways yes, but I do see his point.
I think they went... OOPS!!!, and are now trying to revert. Everyone knows GTAV will eventually come to PC, and probably PS4 and XBOX One too. I'm 36, been gaming since the beginning. I'm also a computer programmer, but I prefer consoles for gaming. Yes, I clearly understand the advantages that the openness of a PC provide. But it is the ease of access of the consoles which makes me prefer them. At the end of a work day, I don't want to be on a PC (even though my gaming rig is two 24" monitors with consoles and PC side by side). Even among the people I work with, there are some that prefer PC, and some that prefer consoles... but most game on everything. There are just some experiences unique to each platform, so I choose to have it all, but when it comes to multi-platform games, I typically buy for a console. There are some games that I have bought for multiple consoles and/or PC, just because the communities are so different, and I have friends on each.
@jeffgoldwin I base my purchases purely from a product stand point. Not from what they say about consoles. I really couldn't care any less than I do now about how Nvidia feels about consoles. Nvidia makes the best product, so I'll buy Nvidia. I still hope GTA 5 comes to pc, nothing is better than a modded GTA..
It will come to PC eventually!! Rockstar got too many sales to lose! BUt Nvidia...its just whatever!! when new consoles were announced they said some shit as well! who cares!!
Nvidia may make better hardware but in my experience amd does better drivers. The drivers seem to come out more often, the games are better optimized, and more stable graphics wise. Also more and more games seem to be optimized for amd cards. With that being the case sure nvidia has more power but they need it to brute force unoptimized code.
hahaha Nvidia sucks Console forever -_-
"but in my experience amd does better drivers. The drivers seem to come out more often, the games are better optimized, and more stable graphics wise." *spit take*
@Mr Tretton Are you being sarcastic? With AMD I had the most horrible driver experience for GPU ever, I had a Sapphire HD 7950, performing to it's promises on benchmarks, but on games it was just horrible, stuttering, bad frame rates etc. Now I have exchanged it to Gigabyte GTX 770, as the HD 7950 died just before it's first year in my hands. The card had excellent temperatures, I didn't over-clock it, but it still died on me... With the GTX 770 I am very satisfied, I can actually play GTA IV, with HD 7950 it had texture load problems & lags. I won't be purchasing any AMD product for the next 5-10 years for sure.
It was an Nvidia investor who said that. It will come to PC later, but from Rockstar's own words, they said development for PC port would begin after consoles. I'm personally probably getting it for both PS3/PC. But Nvidia do seem mad, they're being a bit too aggressive about consoles meaning "they be mad bro". They're also slowly losing market share to AMD (not too much of concern), getting destroyed by the Snapdragon and Qualcomm in the mobile department, and they just seem bitter now lol.
Nvidia is talking about those games in general term (since GTA series tend to be released late on the PC)and doesn't seem to predict anything specific. It wasn't even a public announcement, a challenge to AMD or some interview (as this article suggested). It was none of that. It was something said by a PR guy to investors during a meeting that was uncovered by some other gaming site. Those words were never meant for us gamers, they were for the investors. You're going anti-Nvidia for the rest of your life based on that? A journalist's knee jerk reaction to what a PR guy said to investors?
Going downhill for talking up their primary platform...riiight. Please, any article on this site talking up the PS4 is met with absolute praise, but anyone NOT affiliated with the almighty Sony is just butt-hurt.
I dont care what some PR guy says about consoles, I just buy the product I like.
It'll probably go to PC later on anyway.
Not the point. They shouldn't have lied. What kind of a response/logic is that?
Yeah, totally. Perhaps that initial list that was leaked was a rough estimate. Still, there's no justifying them going on a limb after and saying it was true.
They didn't lie. They leaked. Now they have to pretend they didn't tell the truth we already know.
Wtf? to express enthusiasm? more like to piss of gamers
uhh...NVIDIA sounds like that dumped jealous girlfriend that we've all had that just talks shit to get attention.
im no PC gamer but i hope there is a PC version for 2 reasons 1-more people enjoy GTA 2-to port the PC build to X1 and ps4
Will people just stop this stupid game you're playing with 'oh I hope it comes to pc!' all the evidence short of an official announcement points to GTA 5 being released on PC. Looking at this from a logical skeptical perspective, it is certainly coming to PC
GTA4 ran like garbage.
My point exactly as well. If it runs as good as any other port, then I will be pleased to buy it.
its coming to pc they just wanna milk all the 2 week consoles sales they can at $65 a pop with some nice day one dlc thrown in for good measure pc version will come out at $39.99, include all the dlc, look 1000x better and have 100's of hours of free mods basically the pc version of GTA V will make the ps3/360 versions look like ds games that run at 20 frames and cost double that, and ONLY that, is the reason they are quiet about the pc version also, steam will have it on sale for $20 2 months later pc version ftw!
You are so embarrassing to PC gamers. Quit being a bitch.
please, get that sony dong out your mouth boy
I'm a full on PC player fool, I'm just not a jerk off like yourself. Grow the fuck up.
All GTA games have been released on PC. Does anyone really believe that GTA 5 won't be on PC sooner or later?
It's b/c RDR did not come to pc that while there is doubt.
but max payne did.
We have a leak in sector 5 please send a clean up crew... http://cdn.memegenerator.ne... xD
Bullsh**. Slip of the tongue, you wouldn't include a game coming to PC unless it was 1.Official. 2. not announced BUT up and running. R* have said consoles, nothing on PC, why would you say PC?
Nvidia just broke NDA so they are now back tracking. WE ALL KNOW GTAV is coming to PC 8 to 12 months AFTER console release. If you really think after the HUGE success of GTAIV PC (because of the mods) that GTAV will not come to pC then your a FOOL! I'm still playing GTAIV PC thanks to the mods (The Avengers Mods to be specific)
"Nvidia is really going downhill as far as I'm concerned." "hahaha Nvidia sucks Console forever -_-" Go tell that to the 25m gpu they sell each quarter and the billion they make each year or the 60-65% market share they got.
