I saw it coming, MS won't be happy until it gets every single penny from their consumers

gaffyh3912d ago

It Only Does Everything...Worse.

J/k

Seriously though, who didn't see this coming?

LostDjinn3912d ago

Well I didn't see it coming!

This is the hardware equivalent of On-disk DLC. It doesn't cost MS a damn thing for the feature as it's not stored on any of their servers (it uses Twitch servers) and the user pays for their own bandwidth.

JokesOnYou3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

That sucks, but this is not new info, it was reported when they announced Twitch service back in early June. http://www.ign.com/articles... I wondering though who is going to buy an X1 so they can record gameplay to share online but they don't have XBL Gold?, it seems both would go hand and hand. Also whats changed from xbox 360?, I mean to use the online features I thought you've always needed a gold subscription.

So now are we going to get cherry picked old news from every blog about X1?, what about ps4?, guess what you got to pay to play online, who knew?

ZeroX98763912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

I'll be using this to capture nice moments or an epic run of a level. I can store it and watch it later and maybe even show it to my friends.

so if I'm reading correctly, you need the internet to sign in to Xbox live. that makes the feature and online-only feature. Plus, you need to pay Xbox live, even if you want to store it on your X1 HDD....

plus is there any real free to play game on the X1 like the PS4 is getting (no PS plus requirements for those games)? it's always nice to get some titles when the console launch and I know killer instinct is free to play.

pompombrum3912d ago

Sad but true.. I think it's really sad that Microsoft is putting so many of the console's features behind a pay wall. As a long term XBL gold subscriber, I never really notice these things but it really is quite dirty of them. I'm surprised there hasn't been any controversy really especially seeing just how many of the console's features will require this subscription to work.

4Sh0w3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

I have kids and a mortgage to pay, nobody would like to see "free stuff" more than me but lets not be ridiculous what some of you are actually trying to say is that you are going to buy a $400-$500 plus $60 games that cut off half the game but its OK cause at least I get to watch netflix, hulu, etc, wow seriously?
The FACT that you now have to pay to play both consoles online makes this point mute because online gameplay is the single biggest reason to pay by far because we are GAMERS first everything else is a distant 2nd.You still have to pay those individual subscription services. Who pays for hulu but doesnt have a laptop? Who really cares about netflix access but buys a console where with no online they miss out on half their games? It just isn't logical that you want either of these consoles but you dont care for online, this gen proved the amount of sp only games is getting smaller and smaller but yeah I still want to watch netflix movies online on my $500 GAMING console so what if I'm cutoff from half my game. No it makes more sense you just dont care about any of the extra features or you want to pay so you get it all.

christian hour3912d ago

Is it really a surprise? These are the same guys that make you require a gold subscription to use facebook, netflix etc pretty much any useful feature that requires the internet on a microsoft console is going to be for gold members only.

Darrius Cole3912d ago

I think that this is a remnant of the Xbone's original, always online, DRM policy. They anticipated all of their customers having online and buying Xbox Live. So it makes sense that they would put all of their services behind a pay-wall because their goal was to do everything in their power to push all of their customers to buy Xbox Live.

That still takes some balls though. Can you imagine if your PC did that? Imagine if you paid a subscription to Hulu, but you still had to pay Microsoft because you use Windows 8 operating system, or Google because you use a ChromeBook?

I wonder if their original plan required users to have and Xbox Live account in order to do their DRM check-ins?

@4Sh0w

I think the point is still that with Hulu, Netflix, etc. you are already paying them for a subscription so you should not have to pay Microsoft in order to use them.

Ray1863912d ago

You really have to ask. Are they actually able to do anything right? Every announcement that they make is worse than the last.

mewhy323912d ago

This is no surprise at all. I mean they put everything else behind the pay wall. Why wouldn't they put this behind it too? It's all about getting as much money from their sheep as possible.

kupomogli3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

@4Sh0w

While I pay for PS+ already because of what it offers, what if I didn't?

I have over 100 games for the PS3, less than 15 I've played online more than once. This isn't counting the PS+ games I own that I also haven't got online using.

So there's a lot of content without ever having to go online. Also. Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, etc. I only have to buy the 360 games I'm interested in since there's a capable emulator for the system available. I don't care about online for the system.

stage883912d ago

Typical MS. Thanks for making my decision to buy a PS4 much easier.

minimur123912d ago

apart from kindof being disgusted at this, I also find it comical. Without sounding fanboyish
PS4 recording is better (15 mins). Free.

Xbox One's recording (5mins). Paid.
Yes, Xbox have a better website to stream on (Twitch) but it is not limited by a paywall. It is probably that GIANT cheque (how it's spelled in UK) they payed to Twitch to get the service, just like their conferences on TV.

Admitabble that you need PS Plus for online multiplayer but the IGC kinda pays for all of it.

Gekko363912d ago

@xHeavYx I'm an Xbox customer and I don't care, I am getting a Gold account new for the Xbox One as my 360 account runs out in October. It's only £32 for 12 months so I'm sure I'll be heart broken to have to pay it.

Live is bitchin, I've loved it since the Original Xbox, I don't buy Japanese brands if I can help it especially Sony products.

This is a non issue, yet you seem to want to turn it into something. If your unhappy with it buy a PS4!

Talk about making mountains out of molehills.

xHeavYx3912d ago

@Gekko36
2 things, first, care to explain why you don't buy Japanese brands? You probably prefer American brands that outsource jobs to Asia?
Second, How is it not a problem that apps, free to play games, and other stuff are behind a paywall? Especially when the opposition is doing the exact opposite

scofios3912d ago

@xHeavYx

They deserve it.

Saigon3912d ago

I hope no one is getting mad at this news because this was expected.

The_Con-Sept3912d ago

I love it when fanboys try to shoo in a bunch of jab shots before they are called. 2minths ago Xbox fanboys be like "we don't have to pay in order to record video!"

Now they be like "I bought a 100 dollar HDMI capture card to capture my gameplay!"

Honestly I'd much rather just do it on the console itself. Like the PS4 where I get a bunch of free games alongside the service as an awesome bonus.

4Sh0w3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

@Darrius no that makes no sense how could you ALREADY be paying for a subscription but then HAVE TO PAY MICROSOFT TO USE THEM? You are actually making my above point for me because if you have a subscription already why would you buy a $500 console just to use it?

@kupomogli you just said "While I pay for PS+ already" STOP right there, no matter how you justify it YOU and I are in the same boat= we both pay we both have access to everything, "what if" doesn't apply unless like I said above you're going out to get a console for $500+$60 per game, you're OK with being cut from half of those $60 games but you want me to believe now you're pissed because you cant pay $60 for a full year(or cheaper if you look) so how else are you going to watch netflix that you already decided to pay for? I'm sorry it just doesn't make sense. lol, I can't believe this is a big deal, especially from people online all day on n4g.

malokevi3912d ago

It uses the cloud. If you buy an XB1 and opt out of a gold subscription, you are essentially throwing away your hard earned cash.

I guarantee that all XB1 exclusives will make express use of the cloud, especially in a few years time. Even now, I imagine Forza will be an empty shell without a subscription.

The online requirement may be gone, but its still essentially a necessity. If you are a single-player gamer, I would stick with PS4/WiiU.

AngelicIceDiamond3912d ago

@Heavy I saw that coming a mile away. Mean while You should be concerned with Sony and how it will charge for Gaikai extra charge.

Leave it to N4G to blow up the section and make a big deal out of something we already new about...

ICECREAM3912d ago (Edited 3911d ago )

You know what, you guys still don't get it, Ps4 recording is totally different than X1, Ps4 constantly records 15 minutes, you can access any moment during 15 minutes time that you have played and then you can edit it and upload or send it to your friends but X1 only records, you can't go back to save anything that has already happened so basically if you are looking to record any unexpected moment during your game play that happened before 30 seconds, you won't be able to record with X1. You can record only 5 minutes.

malokevi3912d ago

@ICECREAM

Thats not even remotely true.

Xbox One records the last 7 minutes of gameplay, and at any time you can say "Xbox Record" and start recording for 30 seconds.

You can go back to that 7 minutes of gameplay at any time, edit it, picture in picture it, add commentary, a ton of editing options, and then post it to that game-streaming service whose name I forget.

If your going to argue, at least learn the facts.

ICECREAM3912d ago

@malokevi

Quote from article:

"Microsoft’s Game DVR allows Gold members to record up to 5 minutes of in-game footage for editing and upload to the Xbox live service. Players can also save the last 30 seconds of a game instantly during times when pausing the game may not be possible, such as during an online multiplayer match".

I don't need to argue with you.

malokevi3912d ago

Lol, yeah, wouldn't do either of us any good. I just realized that I have no idea what the hell you were trying to say for a complete lack of punctuation. I can't even decipher it.

I thought you said XB1 doesn't record at all, and that the only option is the 30 second "Xbox, Record" command. Apparently not.

darthv723912d ago

being an existing gold member this really wont cost me an extra penny.

They keep adding more to my subscription and its fine with me. If it were the other way around, taking from my subscription, then i could see a problem.

thechosenone3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

The Xbone is now officially the worst console next gen.

gaffyh3911d ago (Edited 3911d ago )

@gekko - That sounds incredibly racist without an explanation. Although I tend to avoid anything that is American made because it is usually low quality. There are exceptions of course, and I tend to buy Japanese electronics and cars because they usually have better reliability and quality., and obviously there are exceptions here as well.

@malokevi - I think what he is trying to say is that if you encounter a hilarious glitch, and say Xbox Record, you can only go back 30 seconds, but you can record from then on for 7 minutes. So the system is only recording 30 seconds in advance? I'm not sure if that's actually true but I think that's what he means.

Denethor_II3911d ago

@JokesOnYou
"So now are we going to get cherry picked old news from every blog about X1?, what about ps4?, guess what you got to pay to play online, who knew?"

You've had to pay to play online since 2005 with Xbox. Try harder troll.
You mentioned Xbox live and this going hand in hand. Yes you have to have PS+ to play online, thanks Microsft btw, but you also get an absurd amount of games for with that subscription.
Counter argument. No. Bye now.

BallsEye3911d ago

But it's ok. If sony would nanounce you need PS+ to use recording too, all the fanboys writing atm would say "it's worth the money! Atleast we know we will get quality service! Sony Powerzz!". Same thing happened when sony announced no more free online gaming. Funny creatures you are.

Ritsujun3911d ago (Edited 3911d ago )

Laughable.

And, JOY's joking on herself, AGAIN. =/

Blachek3911d ago

Who cares lol, you can't share it with anyone if you don't have gold anyway.

Then again,I really don't care what requires gold or not. I always have gold.

@DragonKnight

I am having a hard time trying to figure out what you are trying to prove here -.-

GodGinrai3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

"Who cares lol, you can't share it with anyone if you don't have gold anyway."

That...is a VERY good point..

EDIT: you need gold to play multiplayer etc. So the feature would be pretty useless if they gave it away free anyway.I mean..what are you gonna do watch reruns of yourself playing forza or something? the game already saves replays. halo? well, you would record a big team battle match..but you need to be a gold member to play that in the first place.

Come to think of it, why is this even news? DVR is really for teenage MLG wannabes showing off their COD killstreaks.

DragonKnight3912d ago

"Who cares lol, you can't share it with anyone if you don't have gold anyway."

Lol, you totally can't.. unless you use Twitch so that the entire internet can see it. Lol Lol Lol lol.

"Then again,I really don't care what requires gold or not. I always have gold."

Good for you. Now if you can somehow apply your life and what you have to everyone in the world, i.e. pay for everyone's Gold account, then you can tell them to care or not.

No_Limit3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

This is old news..it was known a long time ago that it is part of the gold subscription since early Jun.
"Twitch integration on the Xbox One will allow Xbox Live Gold members to broadcast games directly to their Twitch channels."
http://www.gamespot.com/new...

LOL, N4G seems shocked by this like it was just announced today. I have gold and it is not an issue.

Edit @Dragonknight. Looking forward to your next blog about this. Oh, the imaginary things you can do with this information. :D

mcstorm3912d ago

@Mystogan I agree and if you look at the numbers of sales of the 360 and number of gold members there is only around about 25 million consoles out there that don't have a gold account so just over 3 quarters of 360 owners have a gold account and I bet once you take into account people who have replaced there 360 or own more than one it will be about a quarter of people don't have xbox live which shows more people play online with the 360 than don't. Again Im the same as you I have gold all the time so for me it is not an issue but I don't see it being an issue for a lot of people who are looking at getting an xbox one to.

One thing is weather you like it or not xbox live is a massive success or Microsoft and will/is bring in a lot of money for them which Sony is now looking to follow and im sure Nintendo will do this in the end to.

The only down side to it is I see it putting people off owning more than one console because if all 3 charge £40 for online services that's £120 just to play your consoles online. This is also part of the reason im holding off getting a PS4 at release because it could cost £80 to get them both online.

UnHoly_One3912d ago

@gaelic_laoch

What does that even mean?

Freedom of choice?

Whose choice? Microsoft is building a product and selling a service.

They can design both of those things however they want, presumably however they think will make them the most profit.

YOU have the choice to buy or not buy their product and/or their service. YOU don't get to pick and choose how their service is designed, nothing in the world works that way.

I don't like the fact that in order to get HBO from Charter Cable, I have to also get Cinemax and Showtime. I don't use Cinemax and Showtime, so why should I have to take them, right?? I should be able to pick and choose how their service is designed in order to suit me personally, right?

Wrong, because that isn't how it works, and because I'm not an entitled little brat that thinks the world revolves around me, and that multi-million dollar corporations should bend to my will because I'm going to give them a few measly dollars.

Seriously people, it is what it is.

They are making a product, and a service, and you either buy it, or don't. If there aren't enough people buying it, they may change things. That's how the world works.

Christ this website gives me a damn headache, and makes me ashamed of the human species.

DragonKnight3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

@Mystogan: You said "you can't share it with anyone if you don't have Gold." Twitch doesn't require Gold to use, you can use it on your PC. So someone can easily put their content on Twitch for everyone to see.

@No_Limit: Why would I write a blog about this? Microsoft putting everything behind a Gold paywall is really old news that's been butchered to death. No one is surprised by this at all.

@mcstorm: Your numbers are wrong. 46 million users have Xbox Live Gold, of approx. 80 million consoles. That's just over 50% not 75%.

CYCLEGAMER3912d ago

Totally agree! I hate to sound insensitive here but I do not think I know an xbox owner who doesn't have a gold subscription, and none of us are close to being wealthy or "rich".

I take that back I know one person and he is my boss, and he makes more money than all of us...lol, he just doesn't care to game online.

XboxFun3912d ago

Again, a lot of the Sony camp is coming on here turning this into a big deal.

Who is going to get any of these systems who's main selling point IS the online gaming. I have already heard from countless sony fans that they will be paying for PS+ and anyone who says different needs to re-think their investment decisions.

You want a device to watch Netflix, Hulu, or Redbox? Then I suggest you get Rocu or something similar. You want a console to do all of the above and play games online, then get a Xbox One or PS4 and guess what you will be paying for the online service.

Moot point to single out Xbox One for this.

PFFT3911d ago

Who doesnt have Twitch nowadays??? Almost everyone has a Twitch account.I feel bad for Ustream though almost no one uses that poor excuse of a streaming site.

dredgewalker3911d ago

To be honest I don't find this a big deal. Everyone who's buying an Xbox is most likely a 360 fan and they most likely have the subscription already. I'm not buying an Xbox One so I don't think I or the people who's gonna buy a PS4 should even be bothered by this. Can't we all just co-exist? Both fanboys of both consoles are just as worse as the other.

+ Show (9) more repliesLast reply 3911d ago

Microsoft is trying to get every penny from their customers when the Kinect 2.0 costs as much as the xbox one and it's only $100 more than the Ps4??

The reason Sony has been in financial ruins is because they aren't running the business as well as Microsoft that's why they were forced to sell their
buildings lol

They make these exclusives that Sony fanboys brag about but aren't even buying lol Microsoft sold 10 million more games this generation with less exclusives

This time xbox one has the exclusives too

Microsoft is worth billions more than Sony because they are business smart

Mystogan3912d ago

I'm not sure how many people are going to be effected by this(Gold required for game recording). I'm pretty sure its close to zero.

But yes Microsoft runs their business a lot better. Microsoft made more money from the Xbox 360 then Sony did with the PS3. Even with the RROD fiasco.

HammadTheBeast3912d ago

MS lost billions off the RROD thing alone, Nintendo was the only one to make a real profit this Gen.

Bragging about financial stats when MS s*** on you, classic fanboy move.

Darrius Cole3912d ago

Actually Microsoft doesn't run their business any better than Sony at all. Microsoft generates a lot of excess cash because they still have a virtual monopoly on PC operating systems, which are still Microsoft's biggest money maker.

IBM was forced by the US Anti-trust laws to separate the sale of PC hardware from PC software, and IBM chose to sub-contract it's operating system to Microsoft, who then bought an operating system from another company once they had the contract.

If you look at Microsoft's non-computer-software ventures you won't find many successes there. The Xbox 360 is about the best thing that they have ever done, and that was more about Sony forcing Blu-Ray on the market than it was about Microsoft getting it right.

By the way, Apple was using window-based graphical user interfaces before Microsoft released its first version of Windows. Apple even sued Microsoft over it. So Microsoft has been copying Apple for some time.

Valkyre3911d ago (Edited 3911d ago )

Yeah but when Sony put a blu ray inside PS3 that costed alone close to 1000$ and yet they gave you also a console with it at the pricetag of 600$, everybody lost their minds!! (enter Joker scene for reference)

When Sony offers you extra stuff that future proof your console its like "booo we dont need that, when i buy a console i only care about teh gamez, not watching movies!"

But now that MS has produced a console that does 239587205820582052 stuff unrelated to gaming and FORCES them upon you, hey...

its "cool".

Suddenly cable tv, talking to your tv , doritos and mountain dew, you know.... they are awesome stuff for gaming!!

Of course, Most all of Microsoft's features are behind a pay wall, where Sony is not.

We can't really call this news can we? It's most always a given it will be this way.

Mystogan3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

Who's to say that Sony doesn't have it behind a pay wall? We don't know as much about PSN+ on PS4 as you think.

I still wonder, Who would buy a console just to watch Netflix. Truth is, Most people who are connected to the internet are going to have Gold or PSN+ anyway. So it's not that big of a deal as to what is behind a pay wall or not.

@HammadTheBeast

You are telling me that there are people who buy a console to only Play single player games. I am sorry but I think most of these people are better of with a gaming PC. You get everything for free even the games if you Pirate.

HammadTheBeast3912d ago

A lot of people only play SP games. MP isn't their thing, so having access to cross-game chat, Netflix, and f2p games is a big deal for them.

Excalibur3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

@ Mystogan
Did you not read the article?
This has also been stated before, several times.

"Sony’s Share feature for PlayStation 4 allows users to record and upload up to 15 minutes of footage and is not restricted to PlayStation Plus users."

Don't take my comment as any type of attack, just merely stating a fact, you're welcomed to point out where I'm wrong and Microsoft offers things that are not behind their pay wall that Sony charges for.

I have both Xbox live (6 years) and PSN+ (1 1/2 year) so I know what each offers.

kayoss3912d ago

@excalibur
Some people like to jump to the conclusion and skip the fact part just like mystogan. He dont realized that there are several types of gamers in this world and two of them are single player gamers and multiplayer gamers. Is it fair for a person who only play SP mode pay a subscription fee to get access to Netflix, facebook and other apps that they already paid a subscription for or should be free? Of course not. Microsoft nickle and dime you at every chance they get. With the Xbox one fiasco, im glad finally the gamers are standing up against Microsoft and voice their displeasure. This forced them to change some of their policies and be an example to other companies who try treat their consumers like idiots.

nunley333912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

there are millions of offline players who don't play online multiplayer. they may like playing rpg,action,puzzle games.this is why ms did a 180 on their always online drm policy. for those who only play sp games but may wanna watch netflix without paying for online multi they won't should just buy a ps4 instead of xb1.

N83912d ago

Yea lots of people do. It's not all about online gameplay

Bathyj3912d ago

Well i only play single player and i don't care about pc. Don't have psplus or xblive. Thinking about psplus cos you get more than the privelidge of playing your own games online, you get discounts and free games, but i havent seen anything to make me get it yet.

Gentlemanlygamer19923912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

I don't play MP. I like single player games. Most of the Poole online nowadays are assholes or I don't like the MP aspect of the game. I haven't seriously played online since Halo Reach. I hate that I have to pay for gold to use my paid subscription of Netflix. It's bullcrap. That's why I enjoy my PS3 better. I can play online on the few occasions I choose to. Which is hardly. I play Dust every now and then when I want to shoot things but otherwise I don't play online. But I do have PS+ though and I've had it for 3 months and don't regret it. It's paid for itself 3 times over already. So no foul to me. And I can't afford a gaming rig. I'd hate to have a pc that I could mod all the games I could download to give me the best possible. If I had a PC that couldn't run Skyrim with all the mods I'd be sad. If I ever get enough money for that, damn right I'm gone buy a PC. but I'll still have my PS3/4 and 360. I'm skipping Xone this gen until the price goes way down.

Excalibur3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

@kayoss

Agree, as I said I'm a member of both services and I see the difference for better or worse on both.

For example
Sony gave away 64 games in it's first year of PSN+ at a value over $1,000

http://www.ign.com/articles...

And after six years of service (at $10.00 more a year I might add) Microsoft is up to 6 free games, one of which I can buy used at GameStop for $2.99 and BTW I have them all already so it didn't benefit me in the least.

Again I'm not hating, just merely stating a fact.

harrisk9543911d ago (Edited 3911d ago )

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings had the following to say: “PS3 is our largest TV-connected platform in terms of Netflix viewing, and this year, at times, even surpassed the PC in hours of Netflix enjoyment to become our number one platform overall."

" Most all of Microsoft's features are behind a pay wall, where Sony is not."

And sony's are slowly changing as well. Fist it was free online and now their isn't. They will be adding more and more behind that pay wall too. They won't be able to keep giving stuff for free and keep footing the bill. Its suicide.

HammadTheBeast3912d ago

I love how this has always been the excuse. First it was "Sony will have DRM too". Then, "Sony will ban used games as well".

I'm not saying they won't, but can we really just dump Sony in here to justify this?

WeAreLegion3912d ago

Sony's haven't changed. The online multi-player for all non-F2P games is the only feature added to the PS Plus subscription.

They haven't added anything else. What do you mean "slowly changing"?

Lol Just like you thought Sony was going to ban used games and require online?

Just because MS does it doesn't mean Sony will.

@belking
Why do you feel like you have to justify your support for Microsoft by pointing fingers at others? Yes Sony have their flaws too but they were willing to change. Everything they did wrong with the PS3 early has so far been corrected and have changed in the PS4. Everything that was wrong with the xbox360 has been carried over to the xbox one. Microsoft have nothing to try to change regardless of what the consumers want. They try to dictate what consumers want. If it wasnt for consumers voicing their opinion, the xbox one policies would have been worst.

@Belking

"And sony's are slowly changing as well. Fist it was free online and now their isn't. They will be adding more and more behind that pay wall too."

once again Sony is not Microsoft! just because Microsoft does it does not mean Sony will follow. For one FREE 2 PLAY Multi-player Games on the Playstation 4 are still free to play online, that is not the same as Microsoft's any and every online Multi-player Game must go through XBOXLIVE "Gold" if its Multi-player. unlike Microsoft.

Sony does indeed still Offer online Multi-player online for Free for consumer's to play without the need for Playstation + requirement for the PS4.

That is 100% a fact!

So once again this is like the 6th time i have told you this, and other's, Again they are not the freaking same. But many of the people it seems that like to point o for Multi-player keep trying to claim its now the same as Microsoft, no free online multi-player for the PS4 and that is just not true at all.Even though Sony is now charging for some Online Multi-player Games the truth of the matter is not all of Multi-player online games on the PS4 are in back of a paywall you know this and yet you still continue to post Misinformation.

hazelamy3912d ago

the thing is they're not giving stuff free.
allowing you to access the netflix app without a subscription is not them giving something free.
neither is it with lovefilm, youtube, hulu or whatever apps they allow people to access on PS4.

they're not providing those services, other companies are, and they usually charge for them.

Considering that the capability of this is in the console and not the cloud, or a Microsoft server it's kind of unreasonable to be behind the paywall. MS need to realise that people who are going to get a Gold subscription are going to get one, people who aren't going to get one won't.

Im a huge fan of the xbox 360 but geez all they have done this coming gen is be a step behind Sony and cost more to boot. they have yet to justify price short of the kinect. My only guess and they better have nailed it is functionality. Xbox live is quicker for downloading, more secure than psn, if the instant switching and overall functions of the system are way better than that of ps4 they better get to demonstrating that. as of now theyve done litte to justify the price point

kayoss3912d ago (Edited 3912d ago )

Would you rather pay $500 for a Xbox one with Kinect or pay $500 for a PS4 with a Vita?
I dont understand why microsoft feel that they need to push the kinect to the consumers. Its a peripheral and should not be mandatory.

Cryptcuzz3911d ago

Has the PS4 and Vita SKU been confirmed? If so, that would be a huge hit on all aspects for Sony.

beebap3911d ago

Ms has been hacked too.The hack on psn was a major one from a determined group.Sony then wisely spend some time beefing up their security.MS system has not been attacked to that extreme so it not really clear who is the most secure.
