Gameplayer has gone live with their review of the Nintendo DS extention to last year's blockbuster Assassin's Creed game. They don't see the game as being a particularly good DS release, or nearly as good as its console big brother.
"Unfortunately, Chronicles isn't a go-anywhere sandbox game like its older brother. The game is almost Tenchu-esque in its level designs; you're an acrobatic killer who stabs people without mercy and lives a structured life of travelling from point A to point B."

Assassin's Creed is, put kindly, a contentious series. Put unkindly, its has had highs and lows so high and so low that I'm starting to feel seasick thinking about it. But for all its troubles, swathes of players keep coming back, because there's something at the heart of Assassin's Creed that still creates fun, enthralling, even timeless adventures.
Of course, no one can actually agree on which Creed games deserve that ‘timeless’ descriptor. If you're a newcomer to the series looking for what's worth your time, internet screaming matches aren't going to do you much good; you need a list of the best and worst of the Assassin's Creed series, free of drama.
