Emotive stories portrayed in a cinematic way, coupled with voice acting, facial animation and the highest level of interactivity we have ever experienced before mean that some games manage to reach a level of immersion that can rival that of the best movies released by Hollywood.
Games have always included a level of involvement that a movie could never offer by their very nature, but in the past, games have been exactly that – games. But now, the games industry is out pacing movies on their own turf, providing stories and experiences that get their hooks into you and guide you through an experience and story that you control.
With this in mind, we take a look at 5 movies that would have been much better if they were originally made as games and could have offered a better level of immersion if they were presented on a computer screen rather than the silver screen.

Golden Axe is a great game I enjoyed it on the SMS, Genesis and in the arcade. Great game but it truly was a quarter eater back in the day. I wish Sega could get the rights to the arcade port of Moonwalker another great arcade game I enjoyed. Collect so many monkeys and become Robo Michael lol.

Thinking about film to game, you have to first consider which devs are able to pull it off.
For example, I'm thinking along the lines of Rockstar - Max Payne, Quantic Dream - Heavy Rain, Rockstrady - Batman Arkham City, Naughty Dog - The Last of Us.
It's well known that films don't translate well into games and vice versa. The only film on that list that that would be worth translating into a game would be Gamer. Because it has potential for some interesting social commentary on the relationship and 4th wall between between the gamer and the game.
Hideo Kojima comes to mind as a game dev that would do something interesting with the concept.
lol ^ The Truman Show would actually be pretty damn cool, no matter if you were Truman, or if you were Ron Howard controlling Truman. But these would not be better if they were games, thats nonsense.
